"24" postponed indefinitely due to strike
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5h...qvZlgD8SPHKHG0
I know a lot of you watch this show. The new season was supposed to start in January but that isn't going to happen anymore and it has been postponed indefinitely due to the strike.

On a similar note, Lost is only going to be an 8-episode season instead of a 16-episode season due to said strike.
Pretty disappointing stuff.

I bet you this really pisses Keifer off. He took a longer sentence for his DUI of 48 days so that he could serve his sentence around the shooting schedule. He could have served a lesser amount had he done it consecutively, but it would have delayed shooting.
Maybe he can go back to the judge and change to the lesser consecutive sentence?

Hell who needs writers. the next season of 24 can be a reality tv series of Jack in jail and what he does to escape.

probably a good thing. Would suck watching 8 episodes and getting into the story then have to wait a year.
Also sucks for scrubs, as it's the last season, and can only do 12 outta 18 episodes so fans might not be able to see the finale.

What is the prognosis on this strike? If it ends soon, are these shows still going to be hurt? Such as LOST, how are they planning to end the series now?

Chuck is a cooler spy show anyhow..
I really got into the first few episodes of last season then I got horribly bored and tuned in for the final episode wondering what the hell had happened to make it even more lame.

This can all change if the strike is resolved soon enough.
I'm firmly in the writer's corner here. If someone is getting residuals for anything, then the writers should be in on it as well.

TBQH I don't really know anything about, nor follow the stike. However as an english major becoming a writer is definitely a possibility for me, so anyway they get more money/benefits etc. is a good thing for me.
Other than that I don't watch tv that much, so this stike doesnt really bother me.

I agree writers are horribly undervalued it would seem in Hollywood. We all like our certain stars and what not but the thing that really seperates good shows from crud is the writing.
A show with good writing can survive bad acting, bad direction or what not.
But a show with good acting, good direction but bad writing is still unwatcheable.

These guys definitely deserve an increase in wages, over the last few years dvd sales and advertising profits have shot through the roof for tv series, movies and other programming. The writers have not seen a dramatic increase in a very long time. The WGA better stick to its guns and get its fair share so that another strike doesn't happen again in a few years.

So does this prove unions are more dangerous than terrorists? Terrorists never stopped Jack Bauer...

Have to admit, I loved the first couple of seasons of "24", but for a while now it's really been wandering off into never-never land. Wasn't even sure if I was going to watch this season...

Tony is back. That is enough reason to watch the show.
