absolutly, it wouldve been huge to win this game in bc. higgins better be gone next year. the defence wasnt great but i was impressed by sankey tonight. deangelis hit the post, oh well meaningless game. there were also some questionable calls against us late in the game and even the commentators were talking about the refs near the end.
i guess this shows that we can beat bc if we can cut down on the penalties. good news is sask didnt look good at all today, should be interesting on rememberance day.

I can't see any possible way that the players believe in Higgins at all, the guy's decision making is a joke, and the players know it. Hard to believe the owners will give him another season, as this team has massively underachieved again this year.

Petrie has been suggesting in the Herald that Hufnagel will be the next head coach of the Stamps.
Higgins could be going to MTL.

Yeah at this point in time, I think the only way Higgins returns is if the Stamps get on a roll and win the cup. They talked about a bunch on the QR 77 post game show last night as well. Sounds like the owners are ready to make a change.

Higgins game decisions has always been downright wacky. He seems to do opposite of what logic would dictate - not sure if he's trying to surprise the other team or what - but I recall it was a problem in Edmonton as well.

Which prompt the Eskimos to fire him. Higgins is a nice guy but he is a terrible coach. He is one of those people that you might like the first year but once you get to know his coaching style, you tend to wonder if he really knows what his doing. I say they should let him go as a head coach after the season and bring in Huffer. I wanted to see Huffer and Cortez together again.

Why would they retain him unless they did actually prove something in an important game. They have being going nowhere fast for the last two years and this looks like a repeat. He isn't getting it done and he SHOULD be tossed!!!

x2. From recent interviews I cant help shake the feeling he's lost the locker room. If the Stamps lose in Regina this weekend I'd say thats hit for Higgins in Calgary.

I thought of something while at work today, maybe he didn't go for 2 because he didn't want overtime. It didn't matter who won, and OT just might mean an injury.
Just imagine how he'd be ripped if he went into OT and picked up a serious injury that wrecked their playoff chances.

I agree Tom Higgins has to go as Head Coach, but what really grinds my gears is that somehow we have to go through this crap now instead of after the season's officially over for the Stamps. This ultimately ensures that the team won't compete on Sunday due to the sideshows. Very bush league, while they aren't named Kevin Feterick the owners should be ashamed. As a fan these kinds of things make me reconsider my season tickets.

Icing on the Bush League Cake.
This should not be discussed or released for at least a week after the Stampeders are out of the playoffs. Higgins is a bad coach, (and Barker is a subpar GM, hopefully he's next) but there's no way he can motivate the troops with the hangman waving at him.
You're reconsidering your season tickets, we're done with ours.

I think bringing back Hufnagel would be great. A real shot in the arm for this team and I dont think the Stamps have been the consistent offensive juggernaut since he left.
I never liked the Higgins move. There was a reason why he was booted from Edmonton (for Danny Maciocia for crying out loud) and I dont think the Stamps should take coaching cast aways from Etown.
It's been a rough ride since Wally was allowed to walk.

I agree that it is absolutley stupid to be waving this around now, but i'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to Hellard and the org. I'm willing to bet that they wanted a deal done as soon as possible in order to avoid him signing somewhere else and then being left stranded without a coach. Someone leaked the news like always and the media took off with it. I'm betting they thought if they waited until the offseason, it would be too late. If there really was no rush, then they certainly wouldn't do it now. The only logical explanation is that they had to do it at this time.
Although none of this is official, and until it is Higgins is still the coach. I feel especially bad for the players caught up in this. I'm sure all they want to do is prepare and think about the game in Sask, yet with this and other things overshadowing the game, it will be tough for them.
Anyway, i'll still have my season tickets next year!

If publically traded corporations can keep details shut about their transactions until press release date why the hell can't the Stamps keep the rumor to "looks like this is Tom Higgins last stand" in which case the focus is still the game on Sunday and not next year. But to have his replacement named, contract details, and probable future staff already outlined and reported by the press (I know people have little respect for the press however they don't report as fact any old rumor), it's bush league and reflects poorly on the ownership and can be a sign of things liek this yet to come in the ensuing seasons, hence my tickets are in play this offseason.

Meh, its called a pre-contract with a confidentiality clause that neither side can disclose it until a said date, or until certain conditions have been met. Sports teams and other organizations have used them before, and its a nice way of making sure personnel/player changes are done harmoniously.
I think despite Higgins being a sub-par coach, it was a classless maneuver. Even if it leaked, they should have outright denied the rumor and backed Higgins.
My tickets are definitely in play.
