Default High-Ranking Chinese Mafia Member Gunned Down

A man associated with the notorious Big Circle Boys has been gunned down in front of his mansion in Vancouver's Shaughnessy.

Huang's 10-year-old daughter called 911 to say her dad had been shot. He was dead when police arrived. Numerous shell casings littered the ground.

Huang, 45, was "well-connected" to the Asian organized gang, a police source told The Province last night.

"We know the name . . . You would rank him as a Dai Lo [Big Brother] . . . somebody of influence who could organize stuff and make things happen . . . He is quite high up there," said the source.

Gotta feel for the 10-year-old here who will likely be scarred for a good long while.

Big Circle Boys

What's with these Asian gang names? Hardly intimidating. IIRC the two gang names in Calgary are FOB (fresh off the boat) and FOB Killers. Not only are they lame names, they aren't very original. Who did the hit? The Big Circle Boy killers? Give me something cool to be scared of, like Dragon Eaters, the crazy eighty eights, or the axe gang.

Yup, which is why I argued with another poster on here before when he claimed that Vancouver was safer than Calgary. There was a murder on Halloween in Vancouver as well and of course, the 6-person homicide in Surrey, BC a month ago where two were completely innocent.

Dont forget the drive by shooting in Kits..it was a targeted shooting, but they culprits just fired through the windows of the restaurant...there was another drive by on E Broadway in August...I have a condo in Vancouver, so i spend alot of time there..and trust me there is body found everyday in that area
Anyone who thinks Vancouver is safer than Calgary....is nuts.

A murder in Calgary is Front page news
A murder in the Greater Vancouver area is no longer front page news
its all about perspective..the above statements should tell you something

I don't know about FOB killers or FOBs. Those names are pretty lame, but big circle boys is probably a cantonese translation, which probably makes more sense.

Oh, they get solved. Just not in the conventional way.

If this guy is a big as the po-lice say he is, it'll probably get solved 3 or 4 times over.

My uncle has worked homicide for VPD for over 20 years, he says (without revealing any incriminating details of course) that most of the time they are aware who is responsible for any of these types of shootings, but they realize that "things will take care of themselves."

It's the Triads, not the Mafia, Mafias are Italian, the Triads are Chinese.

Speaking as a proud Italian-Canadian (well, just Canadian, but someone in my family came from Italy) the Mafia doesn't exist. And we should stop talking about it.

Big Circle Boys sounds like the name of a 90's boy band.

The Mafia doesn't exist? What exactly do you mean by that?
