Language classes in Calgary
OK, I know I may be putting the knowledge of CP to the test with this request, but does anybody know of a place in Calgary that offers courses in Tagalog (Filipino)? Something for the beginner; obviously I'm not thinking I can become bilingual overnight, but more to be able to know a few things to say and have a basic understanding.

I asked a Filipina co-worker and she doesn't know of anyone/any place that teaches it in Calgary. She did hint that she was open to teach people for a price.

That may not help me much. I'm not trying to learn because I'm going to the Philippines sometime soon, I was wanting to learn because I'm dating somebody from there.
Somehow I think her finding out that I've been taking private lessons from another woman could end up being counter productive.

Not if she is a switch hitter
There is a good on-line site that will help you learn a lot of languages, for free. http://www.mangolanguages.com/
They don't have Filipino right now though, so it probably isn't much help to you. But there have other languages such as Italian, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Russian, etc.

No, you probably don't want to get her jealous. Although, my co-worker is in in her forties and not exactly a looker.

I have heard from several people that Rosetta Stone is very good. It is not the cheapest, but it is supposed to be very helpful.
