Any Dean Koontz Fans Out There?

Hey CP.

In the last 3 years (basically since i have become an avid reader) I've become a huge Dean Koontz fan. I've read about 14 of his books, and really enjoy his writing style and his abilty to keep me in suspence for a whole book.

I have also read and enjoyed alot of James Patterson, Joseph Finder, Dan Brown, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. BAsically, I'm really into suspense/thrillers.

I'm getting to the point where I have read most of what these authors have written. I'm looking for any recommendation from others on CP who are fans Dean Koontz or the other authors. Do you now of any other authors/books that I might enjoy?

I would really appreciate any suggestions. Also, if anyone wants to engage in any book discussion in this thread, feel free, I always like to discuss books I've read before (am I a loser?)

Have you read Fear Nothing and Seize The Night by Koontz? I loved those two, in fact Fear Nothing is one of my favorite books of all time. I eagerly await the third book in the series.

Not the same type of author, but I enjoy the Vince Flynn novels.

I have, several times in fact. I also eagerly await, yet I'm not confident in will come out in the near future. Those two books are some of his best work. Koontz really makes the reader care about the characters, he almost never fails in that regard.

EDIT: I was just thinking, what makes you consider Fear Nothing the better of the two books? I have a hard time considering them anything but a part 1/2 of the same book. For sure they are two of his best.

Last I heard, early 2008 is the best case scenario. From what I have read, the 3rd Frankenstein was delayed because of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

For those unfamiliar with the Frankenstein series, it is set in New Orleans, and without giving it away, pending disaster in New Orleans is a focal point of the story. Koontz felt that the story might hit too close to home for some readers, and he delayed it. From what I can gather, Koontz might encorporate the Hurricane into the storyline as well. I'm interested to see how this turns out.

Have you tried James Rollins or Matthew Reilly? They're boys-own, popcorn adventure fare but good fun nonetheless. Matt Reilly's action set up's are absolutely incredible in a ludicrous sort of way! "Ice Station" is a good starting point for his books.

Fear Nothing was the first I read of his, so I guess it has that value to me. To be honest, I breezed through Seize The Night way too quickly, and I have been meaning to re-read it after all these years. In fact, I'd like to re-read both books, but I loaned my copy of Fear Nothing out to a friends years ago and have never gotten it back.
