Elias gets in his BMW and heads up I-35
North to Minnesota.
Patrik Elias has been traded to the Minnesota Wild for Scott Gomez. Sources say he is transporting 2.6 million dollars with a police escort. He'll be on the lookout for any teams trying an Italian Job-like heist of the green.
Elias just didn't get it done here in Dallas. Ever since the first game when he took a puck to the face, he's been unable to find the back of the net. His shooting percentage is at 5.7% (2 goals on 35 shots). As a comparison, the other 5 guys on the top 2 lines all have a shooting percentage above 10%.
Part of Elias struggles could be attributed to playing out of position at center. Hopefully natural center Gomez can take over on the top line and get Daniel Sedin going as well. Sedin has a respectable 7 goals, but Todd White, Tyler Arnason and Mikael Samuelsson are outscoring him.
