Default Inexpensive web hosting

I'm looking to put my photography portfolio online for some prospective employers. I'd to have a URL with my name in it, rather than a members.shaw.ca etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is my first time looking at something like this.

Thanks

Who else thinks this thread only appeared because of the "boring websites with adsense" thread?

I've moved to these guys: http://www.cirtexhosting.com/ after dealing with hosts that have been clueless and had downtime.

They come pretty highly recommended.

Dreamhost is a pretty good company as well especially if you are new to hosting; they have a nice control panel. They are huge and aren't a host I'd recommend for business hosting (i.e. if email doesn't work for 2 hours it's not the end of the world), but their supposed bandwidth and disk space offerings are pretty huge.

If you get your own webhost there's also some free photo gallery software you can setup (or some webhost providers have a 1 click install of it, Dreamhost does).

I'm using BlueHost.com right now... Pretty good for the price ($7 US per month)

www.webhostingtalk.com is a good place to search for reviews of specific hosts. They also have a good area of people making hosting offers.

I now take it you never read the thread (it's still on the 1st page):

Ah, okies.

I just want to put my portfolio online and pass the link on during interviews/meetings, not really a site for surfing (per say).
