Default Sense of Humor

I have been a CP lurker for around 5 to 6 years but this is my first thread. Life is too short and too many people take it too seriously. I feel that one of the best things in life is HUMOR. I bring this up because over the years, I have found a great sense of humor displayed in many of the threads on CP. Most of it is subtle and in a sarcastic tone, but that is what makes it hilarious. Of course the majority of posts are serious, but I just want to give credit where credit is due. I sincerely THANK the many CP members who have provided humorous comments over the past number of years. Life is too short and sometimes you just have to LAUGH! Try not to let life stress you out too much to enjoy finding the humor in it!!!

At first I misinterpreted what you were saying- I thought you had just been surfing around CP for years without ever making a previous post.

Yeah, some people have a wicked sense of humor on this forum. I think it helps greatly that people on CP are generally quite friendly too!

I, too, enjoy an elegantly turned phrase or subtle (or not so subtle) barb aimed at exposing the comic nature of things. Take, for example, the Oilers recent "team building" exercises over the last couple of years. Pure comic relief there. I approve.

I believe a sense of humor is also an indication of intelligence because it takes wit, creativeness, imagination, and the ability to laugh at oneself to be humorous.

Or a keen sense of bodily functions and timing.

That's especially true with 8 to 10 year old boys. When my son was that age I could keep him and his friends in stitches for ages just by saying "arse fart" and "sphincter" in a funny voice.

How many times is "humour" going to be misspelled in this thread?

Yikes.

It can be spelled either as humor or humour....the latter being the british form. Irregardless, 2 posts in here did touch upon the bodily humors, and thus from a meaning point of view, both are relevant. Long live the fart jokes!

As for humour, I mean, this site is for people who love hockey, so its supposed to be fun. No fun in keeping everything all serious and stodgy.

Humour is for chumps and the weak.

I eat the weak! Or the Chumps? I cant remember now, I'm starving though.

That's 'cause you're a monster. And if you're a lazy monster, you proably eat weak chumps.

Thats me alright. I cant be made to work too hard for food or beer. These are constitutional rights.

On the plus side, I'm culling the herd of the weak, far too many weak out there......

Only problem is, if I go too far they might have to close the city of Edmonton. Full of chumps. Its like a monster's buffet table.....

Ah yes, Edmonton, the City Of Chumps. Don't eat too many though before a date or you'll have garlic breath.
