I guess that's not suprising. The guy was acting in direct defiance of the state constitution. There's a channel that these things must go through. It's interesting though to read about how all these states are voting on the matter in the fall--this could still end up being one of the bigger issues in the election.

Two thoughts in response:

1) These marriages were never official in the eyes of the law...therefore, the court probably made the right ruling.

2) Contrary to some of my posts on this topic during the last 4 or 5 months, I'm just getting bloody tired of the arguments. I'm at the point where I don't care if they call it "marriage," "garriage," or "civil union" anymore, as long as the legal rights are the same. It's inevitable that they will be given the right to marry at some point, so let's get it over with and shut up this stupid argument.

I really don't care if gay marriage is legal. I respect the church not to give them marriage due to beliefs. Honestly I can't see what's wrong with giving them a marriage outside the church. Live and let live. That's my opinion. They pay taxes and don't bother me.

I'm not a religious guy, and even if I was, why would it matter to me if two people of the same sex decided they wanted to commit to one another for life and be entitled to the benefits that society offers those who enter the legal institution of marriage.

Seems to me outlawing it is just a form of legalized discrimination.

Well, I think I am as liberal as they get...but if you were of a religion that cared you might understand...so I can fully understand what religious people are saying.

The fact of the matter is, is they do not want to get married in the church, most gay people reject the church just as the church rejects them, so it is not even an issue with the church

I am all for it.
