Well the Predators ended their long series against that Hawks with a draw. Not much to report here...pretty even all the way around really.
Next up is the newly re-configured Wild in two days.

Well, Hedberg had a strong game a couple days, so we start him again and he goes and stinks it up! On the bright side, no injuries! Next game on Friday at home against the Habs!

Just for posterity I'd like to paste the CPHL scoring leaders.
Player GP G A P +/- PIM PP SH Shots Sh%
G.METROPOLIT(BRU) 15 10 10 20 16 18 2 0 41 24.4
V.KOZLOV(NOR) 13 11 8 19 2 14 5 1 42 26.2
J.THORNTON(PEN) 13 6 13 19 7 23 2 0 30 20.0
T.ARNASON(STA) 14 7 12 19 11 10 0 0 37 18.9
C.BROWN(BRU) 15 6 13 19 13 20 1 0 28 21.4
WDF? Anyway, decent win vs the Canes today considering we were out shot 33 - 24. Nice to have the first line show up, that hasnt happened in a while.
Game Stars
1 - Jason Arnott (BRU)
2 - Guillaume Latendresse (HUR)
3 - Anson Carter (HUR)
Lost Hatcher to a 5 game suspension though but no new injuries. I did gamble on playing Khabby at 99 CD and now hes down to 97 so that kinda sucks. A day off should do him well, then a game vs the Nords.

After getting blown out 6-0 by the Devils, Toivonen was handed the reigns in net and performed beautifully, stopping 25 of the 26 shots he faced and allowing the Sharks to stomp the Ducks 6-1!
Getting Parise back in the lineup seemed to be key here as he and Erat have some very nice chemistry together.
Next game should prove to be interesting though as our top Dman was just dealt to the Hawks for young forward Mikko Koivu and defensive prospect Matt Niskanen. Hopefully the rest of the D squad can step their game up and hold off any big threats long enough for the forwards to pot some more goals.
On a side note, how do you win 6-1 and have 3 players at +1, 3 players at -1 and everyone else even?

close not good enough as SAbres lose 5-4
Looooob tinkered with the lines going into this one, maybe too much in retrospect. Scoring was received from 4 different lines, but the Sabres gave up too much including a SH goal in a 5-4 loss to the Panthers. Giguere was back to stinking after playing a little better lately. The Sabres also lost Ortmeyer to a minor injury further affecting the teams' thin depth situation. Rumor has it this has the Sabres even closer to inking ECHLer Milan Lucic to an entry level contract, something Looooob is typically reluctant to do before a player serves 3 years in the E
Positive notes for the Sabres remain Ruslan Fedotenko and Brian Rolston amongst the scoring leaders, and Mike Green who with 2 points remains amongst the leagues better rookie dmen.

Jets drop another game. When can I play a team not named the Rangers or Thrashers?
David Aebischer was steady again but not good enough. Once again the main problem continues to be scoring goals. Jets have lost 6 straight. I am interested in moving Petr Cajanek (74ov) for a younger forward that has some offensive ability.

Emery gets shut out #2 and the Blues beat the Yotes 1-0.
Kessel with the GWG. Phil is second in rookie scoring and making a name for himself in his first year in the CPHL

6 saves on 11 shots....what a great start for Garon. Pretty weak when you're down 5-0, 19 minutes into the game and the team really didn't play that badly!!! Stupid drug testing not letting Garon use Propecia or Rogaine, or whatever and giving him no self esteem.

‘Canes find a way to loose again. Overall the team is playing pretty strong but just find themselves behind a curve of near slips. Out of the last 5 looses every game has been a one goal defeat, that’s just two saves away in each game of being a real solid run.
With the major injury of our leader and with our top defenceman serving that suspension I would say to expect anything more of an output would be unrealistic.
Something is missing though… plus I need to find a way to get a fire lit under boyes, I should have traded him in the off-season. Four points in 15 games doesn’t cut it when you’re losing one goal games. Time to get my tactician hat on again
Nice come back by the Bruins though in the third, to put 3 goals up in the third in a come from behind victory shows a lot of straight and possibly the return to glory for beantown

Flyers 5 Leafs 3
The Flyers up and down season continued as they were able to put together enough offense to defeat the visitng Leafs 5-3. With two key forwards out and a few others guy tired the Flyers relied on their third line to bring some scoring and Jay Pandolof and J.P. Vigier did not disappoint. Pandolfo continued his solid offensive play this season by notching his sixth goal of the season. Not wanting to be outscored by the defensive specialist Brain Gionta got on the board with his 7th of the young campaign. Newcomer Michael Nylander was held off the board but was given some slack by his new GM as the team tries to find a fit with the other top 6 forwards on the team. It was a much needed victory and with a day to rest the team hopes to be ready to make a little run to get themselves back into the play-off hunt. Fredrik Norrena played once again as Hasek needed another day’s rest. While he wasn’t spectatcular he did enough to help the team win and improved to 3-2 on the season.
Next up the Flyers have a day off which they will use to travel to Winnipeg to face the Jets. It will be a good test to see if their play tonight was for real or if they are still prentenders.

Well we are about 10 games away from seeing a total rebuild in Steel Town. The injuries and fatigue just keeps building up, we thought we were turning a corner then Markov went down for a long time and we haven't won since. Both goalies are tired and our defense has two injuries and a tired player. If we are winless on this upcoming stretch guys like Chelios, Jovo, Gelinas will be moved to contenders.

Grrr...
1-0 loss? Where has the scoring gone in Phoenix? Toskala kept us in this one, however when the forwards go to sleep there is not much you can do about it. Hopefully he can get his CD rating back up, that was his 6th start at less then 100%.
Coach Julien is expected to punish the boys thursday with the bag skate scheduled at 4:30 AM.

You scored 4 powerplay goals so those do not count toward +/-. You also scored short handed so it doesn't count for you (only -1 against the Ducks).
The Ducks scored against Johnsson, Sutherby & Hilbert. While Tucker scored with Sarich and Vrbata on the ice.
Cory Sarich +1
Radim Vrbata +1
Darcy Tucker +1
Kim Johnsson -1
Brian Sutherby -1
Andy Hilbert -1
The real question is: You scored once at even strength and one shorthanded while the Ducks only scored 1 even strength goal. How is it they only have 1 player at -1?

Leafs lose second in a row, 5-3 to Philly.
Crappy game by Lundqvist. He's been solid all year but the last 2 games his performance has dropped a bit. He hasn't been 100% in either game as the days off didn't do enough for him. Not sure why.
Flyers score 3 times in the second period and take a 4-1 lead to the 3rd. Leafs couldn't come back, top lines didn't score at all. Hopefully the day off tomorrow gets everyone back to the top of their game.

Ranger Tames the WILD!!!!
Again the team suprises us with a big win vs the Wild!!
A big 3rd period was all we needed. It was all sparked by Ranger. After falling behind 1-0 in the 1st the team buckled down. We allowed a 2nd goal to start the 3rd off and needed a Spark. We go that spark as Paul Ranger scored Short handed setup by the Staal Boys.. Que the comeback. 3 Straight goals to take the lead. The wild stuck agian to tie the game but the Senators were not to be denied. with just 8 seconds left RANGER scored again to take the victory!!
Ranger was the games 1st star as he had 2 goals and 1 A. Williams and Foster rounded out the scoring for the Senators. we now have a staggering 18 points so far this year. far more than we expected...
