Default Ducks trade again, yes this is another trade

A big time blockbuster has just occurred in Disney Land. The two new acquisitions of Radulov and Cammalleri have been sent flying to Minnesota. Those two youngsters will have great NHL careers that is no doubt. It was very hard to deal two great players but the Ducks seem to be used to sending guys all over the league. Going with them was high scoring D man Bryan/Brian? McCabe. The Wild wanted a shakeup to get them on a big time win streak and this could do the job.

In total, the deal shakes down like this:

To the Ducks:
Simon Gagne
Ryan Whitney
PJ Axelsson

To the Wild:
Bryan McCabe
Cammalleri
Alexandre Radulov

The Ducks are extremely happy to get two big time Canadians back in the deal. We look forward to the ever consistent Gagne and we are glad to add a franchise D man to the team in Whitney. Both are still young, on good contracts and rated high enough to make significant contributions to the team.

Ducks would like to thank Wild GM Grant for making these discussions very easy. The process was straightforward and a lot of fun. We look forward to more deals, it is always great to see GMs that aren't afraid to make gigantic trades which benefit both teams.

Overall the Ducks are ecstatic to get the players they got, but like any trade you have to give up a lot to get a lot. We feel that this trade is even right down the middle and the deciding factor was just personal preference of players. Ducks GM Ravi has been a huge fan of Gagne's play for years and had him #1 on his list to acquire.

Huge deal, even on paper, both teams get what they want. I think the deciding factor will be on ice results.

Well I found it hard to trade Whitney and Gagne - too of my favourites but Cammalleri and Radulov aren't slouches in their own right.

At the end of the day Radulov/Cammy/Whitney/Gagne are or will all be front line players - and probably very good front line players so I think both teams make out ok on this one.

CPHL Fun Fact! Radulov was actually originally drafted by the Wild but was dealt that year.

Good deal for Minnesota. Axelsson is long in the tooth and aint much. Still good players going each way. Should be a good shakeup.

This is easily a win for Minny in my mind.

Cammalleri is already a great player right now and Radulov will be one very, very soon. Add to this a good offensive dman (granted, McCabe's pretty horrible defensively) and the Wild take this one.

Axelsson's a non-factor considering the other 5 players involved in the deal.

Well I'm not so quick to dismiss Axelsson as junk. He is a bit older at 32, but he's been a guy who averages nearly 0.5 points per game and plays a defensive role. In the Sim he's had some pretty good years and his ratings are still usable. Although in terms of where the players NHL careers are heading I think I'd prefer the package of players that the Wild get, especially if these concussion issues start to dog Gagner a bit. But in terms of Sim abilities for this season it's a pretty even swap and might actually help the Ducks more.
