Who is hosting it....and why would they host it a day early?
I'm pulling 500KB/s...must be pretty darn good considering that everyone else is downloading as well.

FileShack has the demo too....if you're so lucky to have an account there for an even faster download speed.

Well, I believe this may mean it is time for a new machine.
It it is anything like Far Cry it will want everything it can get.
What is everyone running?

I was getting faster than I usually get of fileshack. About 1200KB/s!
I've got a 2.4GHz Opteron with a 7900GTO video card, just gonna load this up and see how it performs.

This will kill my computer, oh man. I'll need to buy an 8800GT when it comes out in a month or two (at the pricepoint of but faster than the old GTS, but near GTX speeds). Photon, what kind of a connection do you have to get 1200KB/s??? I had to upgrade to a new Shaw modem, the old grey Cybersurfr died and they gave me the el-cheapo Blue Motorola and it seems to be very slow. 152.6KB/s only.
As far as Crysis goes, I think anythign less of an 8800GTS or GTX and you are screwed if you want to play with any eye-candy. This game won't be running smoothly on everyday hardware for another year or so. I have an x1950 Pro and I know it's not going to cut it.
Also, you're going to need to upgrade to Vista (BARF) if you are want to see the game in all it's DX10 glory (it is quite a remarkable difference from the hi-def videos I have seen, it's almost lifelike). I refuse to upgrade to Vista so I guess I'll never see this game as it was meant to be played.
I thought that even if you download it tonight, you might not be able to play it until tomorrow. The files are encrypted and you need a key, they might not decrypt until tomorrow when the release date is ala Steam games. Hopefully that is not the case.
This guy has a q6600 @ 3.0GHz, 4GB of ram, and an overclocked 8800GTS and he's getting all of 11.5 FPS!!!

I have an 3.2 DC with an 8800GTX and it runs butter smooth on mine with settings on high, i'm on winXP though so it's just directX 9, I think theres a lot of work to be done with Vista drivers for directX 10.

Well, given that I'm using a Shuttle, the game isn't running that badly, but I have to live with 10-18 FPS.
The ridiuclous array of company advertising (EA, Intel, Nvidia, Crytek, etc.) and the unskippable videos are really irritating everytime you start Crysis. Use this to kill them so the demo loads instantly.

My video fps is somewhat okay at medium setting and high resolution. Using a 8600GT and an old Athlon 64 3200. However, the audio skips like there is no tomorrow and the cutscene/video's are so jumpy it's less than 1/2 fps.

Yeah, not bad on mine at 1280x1024 and everything set to medium. Set it to 1920x1200 with everything max, and it's a slideshow
The developer says that a quad core processor will make a huge difference for this game.

Define "butter smooth". I get about 40fps running 2 8800GTX's on SLI w/ a Q6600. That's DX9 @ 1280x800 w/ everything on high, no AA. I get around 11 with the same settings @ 2560x1600... /cry

Can you tell if you are CPU or GPU bound?
