Default CTS TV: Television You Can Believe In!

http://ctstv.com/index.asp

Just saw an advertisement for this station on my morning commute. Is this a new station for our market? It's been quite a while since I was able to enjoy the antics of Alex P. Keaton and DJ Tanner pre-Val Bure.

Quote:
We believe that when people invest their time in watching television, it can be time well spent. As many families go through life today, choices they make are usually based on their values and beliefs. Choosing television programs on CTS TV provides viewers with a range of entertaining and inspirational programs that present values based on biblical principals. Our programming presents strong family relationships and real life situations that we all face but these situations are handled in a manner reflecting positive moral values.
They've been around quite a while, but I guess they are putting on a media blitz.

EDIT: I guess I've seen this channel for a long time on satellite, but it is new to the Calgary and EDM local markets.

October 8, 2007 - Since Crossroads Television System (CTS) received its approval from the Canadian Radio-Television Telecommunication Commission (CRTC) for licensing in Alberta last June, CTS has been building teams and developing Alberta-produced shows for its new stations in both Calgary and Edmonton.
“We [are establishing] these television stations so that the people of Calgary and Edmonton can speak directly to their own communities on matters of religion and faith,” said CTS Senior Executive Producer of Balanced Programming Richard M. Landau.

Their "women belong in the kitchen" and "gays are evil" stances have made me block out the channel.

That's kinda the point of the network though. For people who believe in line with you there are hundreds of channels for the ol' guard there's only a handful. They're filling a niche role in the marketplace.

Aw, come on... You don't want to be part of the wacky adventures of the Ingals'? Did you see the one where they found the black kid in the barn sucking eggs? He was "hun'gry"... And poor Mary! Going blind like that... Good thing she has faith in God! And that mean Olson family. Woo! A real barrel-o-monkeys.

I stand by rather killing myself. Seriously.

Now, if they sprinkled in an episode of Anne of Green Gables in there every once in a while, I'd just save them the trouble .....

If i was so ill that I was bed-ridden and that was on TV and someone left a revolver with one bullet in it by my side....

....I'd ask that they come back and fill the other 5 chambers just to make sure.

These shows are horrible, I dont know how people can stand them.

Hey. I'd watch those. I could turn those documentaries into one helluva drinking game.

OMG OMG OMG Please tell me this is true!!

This half-hour, family-friendly comedy will have you laughing within seconds! Tune into Family Matters to watch the Winslow family battle and overcome challenges with their pesky and nerdy neighbour, Steve Urkel. Carl, the head of the household and a devoted police officer, along with his loving wife Harriette, are the parents of three children; their rebel son Eddie, smart-aleck daughter Laura, and who could forget adorable little Judy. The Winslows have opened their home to Harriette’s sister, Rachel, and her young son, Richie, along with Carl’s streetwise mother, Estelle. Watch as Steve Urkel tests the Winslows’ patience when he breaks everything from furniture to windows - this home is packed with dynamic characters and unpredictable mishaps! Don’t miss an episode of Family Matters, weeknights at 7:00 here on CTS.
