Seriously. It's going to be a huge deal, not just for this series but for all of them.

I expect that there's going to be a rush to get as many scripts written as possible before that strike hits, but I would expect that we're going to be seeing a ton of re-runs over the next year.

In Cowperson's earlier post, Moore mentioned how fans were going to "freak out" over what happens at the end of episode 10.

That implies to me that they have much of the storyline already mapped out, if not already scripted.

I've heard that a bunch of shows are trying to get as many scripts as possible before the strike. I wonder how good these scripts will be if the writers know that doing extra work undermines their pending strike effort?

I was talking to a friend the other night about the writers strike, and we both thought about how much fun it would be for the writers to totally make small changes in shows that screw up the shows.

BattleStar Galactica could be messed up easily because some of the fanbase is on the level of Trekkies in that they pour over the show in agonizing details looking for plot holes. so how hard would it be to change the outlook on characters. IE Tigh stops drinking and takes up crack. Baltar see's the error of his ways and becomes a staunch anti-cylon republican. Suddenly there's a new villian of the week being played by special guest stars

Tigh - "Who's that Boss"

Adama - "Why thats 62, he's a maintenance Cylon with a silly whimsical edge, he's not here to kill us, he wants to start a Human Cylon clog dancing club. (James Brolin stops off of a shuttle with a garland of flowers around his neck and a drink in a coconut in his hand. He waves at Adama)

Better yet, in Bones, Doctor Brennan starts bed hopping and partying.

Or in Lost, they stumble through the bush and come out in the middle of Disney World (Written by guest writer M. Night Shamalamadingdong)

In two and a half men, Charlie realizes that he likes dating older woman, oh wait thats happened, I call sabotage.

You get the idea.

The writers' contract expires Oct. 31. Studios and TV networks have accelerated filming of shows and movies and begun stockpiling scripts in case of a strike.

The last strike in 1988 lasted 22 weeks, and losses to the industry were put at $500 million

Space confirms that Razor will air on Space on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. Calgary time. Two hour episode.

Also, if you're interested, Space has put up a gallery of Razor pictures, Razor trailer and Razor preview at the link below.

I'm looking forward to getting my battlestar fix.

I have to admit, that I'm really enjoying re-watching the Pegasus story arc on Space right now. The discussions of murder by Adama and Cain are chilling and done so well

Its a shame that Cain had to die, and that she was somewhat redeemed at the end of her life, because having the Galactica running from two enemies, the Cylon's on one side and the Pegasus on the other would have been a great story line.

For those who don't already know, the Razor screener has been leaked and available on any torrent site. I just finished watching it and all I can say is ... wow.

Was I the only one that was thoroughly bored with BSG at the end of season 3?

Gary Hutzel, visual effects co-ordinator for Battlestar, talks about the visual effects for Razor, including bringing back some old friends.

If you want to know absolutely nothing about Razor, then don't read the link.

If you're okay with some visuals and not much in the way of anything else spoilerish, then you'll like this link at Galactica TV.

Hey guys, I don't know if you all know about this, but Sci-Fi has been playing little webisode type dealies called "Razor Flashbacks" during Flash Gordon in the weeks leading up to Razor. They are also on the Scf-Fi website. They are scenes that flashback to one of Bill Adama's experiences during the original Cylon War and which were cut from the televised version of Razor (however, they will be restored or added as special features in the Razor DVD).

The problem: those of us in Canada can't get Sci-Fi and also can't watch on the website from a Canadian web address.

Luckily, YouTube to the rescue.

So far I've seen 5 of the Flashbacks.

Watch them now before they're taken down just like the Webisodes were before the Season 3 premiere.

Also check back in YouTube on Friday for number 6.

Lengthy interview with Battlestar Galactica producer Ron Moore.

http://tv.ign.com/articles/833/833633p1.html

The interview provides probably the best explanation I've seen yet as to why writers are on strike with the internet as their focus.

Also talks about where they are in terms of finishing off the show.

Only a few more sleeps until Razor. Some previews were being shown on the weekend during a re-run of the original mini-series on Space.

I'm very surprised but the YouTube versions of the Razor flashbacks have not been taken down. Odd, since NBC/Universal was so militant in taking down the Webisodes last year before the start of season 3.

Anyway, here are links to the last two Razor Flashbacks, 6 and 7:

Thanks for posting those You Tube links. Finally got my internet at home functioning well enough to watch them.

The hint that a young Adama had some inkling of the Cylon experiments with human tissues is interesting. Bringing back the old Cylons and their ships and the fight in free fall was cool. Well done stuff.

Below, a link to the Sci-Fi Battlestar board thread where Ron Moore shows up to answer questions from fans. Mrs. Ron is actually his wife as well. You have to wade through it to see his answers but some interesting stuff.

That character highlights one of the problems with series in season 3. No new characters which lead to the series getting stale.
Baltar's lawyer was pretty badass.

My wife and I both thought Razor pretty much sucked overall, with only a few redeeming qualities.

*** Razor spoilers follow ***

"Spoilers" is probably too strong a word here, since we already knew everything that happened. Razor literally showed us nothing we didn't already know, except for the old school cylons and the prototype hybrid. I was hoping they'd show us something new, or show that certain scenes didn't play out exactly how they were described before, but that wasn't the case.

Let's see...

Remember when in Pegasus (Part I) back in Season 2 the XO tells Col. Tigh about how Kane executed the former XO for refusing to carry out an order? Yeah, we see how that plays out, which is exactly how it was described -- nothing new is shown to the viewer.

Remember how we meet that civilian engineer who tells how he was pressed into service on the Pegasus (what ever happened to that guy, btw? He would have made an interesting recurring character)? Yeah, well, we get to see that, and again, the viewer doesn't learn anything new.

Big disappointment overall, but it's not surprising, since the quality of BSG has been getting significantly worse ever since the second season. It's really sad that they've yet to make an episode better than 33, the very first show after the miniseries.
