He'll get his full rest before game 4. Maybe his pitch count is low. He's in control. It's the World Series. You dont know how much youll need your pen in future games. He's used to the work load. Etc...

Looks like the gas-can Gagne is coming in to pitch the 9th for the Sox. The Rockies arent out of it yet.

Gimme a break. Gange's struggled for sure, but a 12 run lead is safe for sure. 2 out already...

Come on 7 innings and 93 pitches with no stressful situations? That's a piece of cake. He will be well rested for Game 5.

Naw... it's just being a RedSox fan (and Flames fan for that matter) you get used to the worst happening at the worst imaginable time. Only happy thoughts!
No worries...

Is anyone watching the post game on Fox. They have Eric Bynes from the Arizona Diamondbacks, what a ######bag. After the game he said this wasn't a game the Rockies weren't supposed to win anyway but they will come back strong tomorrow. But before the game he was all pro Colorado going on how about the red sox have no chance against the rockies. What a tool.

I think the Red Sox have finally spent enough money that they don't have to worry about the worst anymore. They can go back to supporting their 180 million dollar team and whinning about every penny the Yankees spend.

why not have him go 1,4,7 instead of 1,5,7.
wasting the pen? Beckett is automatic, I would cryogenically freeze that arm if i could.

Yep. They've become what they once hated. They're no different from the Yankees as far as I'm concerned.

Nobody does 1,4,7 anymore
Beckett is only going 1 and 5 with a very slight desperate possibility that he can go an inning or 2 in Game 7. The World Series doesn't have the extra day off between Games 4 and 5 like the LCS did.

The only difference between the Sox and the Yankees is that the Yankees and their fans don't deny the fact that they spend more than anyone else.
The Sox and their fans seem to want to pretend that they are just like every other team except the Yankees.
That is the one reason that I respect the Yankees slightly more than the Red Sox. Also during their 4 WS run in the 90's the Yankees relied heavily on a lot of homegrown talent. The Red Sox no seem to rely almost exclusively on guys they bought.

Good post moon. Sox fans do try and pass themselves off as just another team and the Yankees try and buy a World Series. The Yankees may be the evil empire, but the Sox are just a poorer evil empire.
That being said, guys like Ortiz, Rameriz, Varitek and Youkalis have been with the organization long enough, I think, to not be considered "bought" for the World Series. That along with guys like Lester, Pedoria and Papelbon give the Sox a good mix of long term guys and drafts/farm guys.
BUT, I think that all goes out the window with the $50+ million dollars thrown at Dice-K. Years ago, only the Yankees would through money like that at foreign, unseen players (Matsui, that Cuban defect, etc...). Now, the Red Sox are the front runners. If A-Rod makes the switch and signs a monster deal with the Red Sox, Red Sox Nation loses all ability to pass themselves off as "just another team".
