Whoosh!
Pretty impressive list though....

By the time I made it to the draft, Theodore was the only potential starter left. Had to pick someone to fill the spot. Once again, I apologize for being late.

Haven't I sent you a PM about this? Click "User CP" (top left corner). Then, on the left side, "List Messages".
Edit: I see the problem with him, but I still think he's better than Theodore. Theodore is not a potential starter.

So--I thought a quick strategy tete-a-tete for those of us on Team CP would be in order. Cerebral, avert your eyes!
OK--he's gone.
1. I just noticed that Kyle Wellwood became available on waivers. I don't have anyone that it makes sense to bump for him--he's injured, and will miss a couple of weeks, but might be an interesting pickup if anybody is stuck with a F that isn't going to produce more than about 40 points. Maybe not--but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anybody on our team might be interested.
2. I have Fedor Tyutin on my team--and I was just perusing the available defencemen, and wondering whether you guys thought it would make sense to bump him for one of the names that are still available. A couple of possibilities:
Brendan Witt
Stephane Robidas
Mike Komisarek....
There are a couple of others. (Steve Montador?!? ) Any advice would be appreciated. Go team!

Looks like Emery won't be ready for the season opener....
Just great.
Another player on my team that is a question mark.
Scot Nieds better decide to play one more year.

Thanks for the advice, Hunter74. I couldn't stomach Sopel, so I took Ballard.

Hey Cerebral, is it possible for you to post the username and password for this pool (or whatever Yahoo uses, I'm more familiar with officepools) so that interested spectators can watch this thing closely as the season progresses?

Actually, I didn't even know hockey pools could be a spectator sport!

Not time to gloat yet, but a good trend so far!

It's still early but a few members of Team HF definitely seem to have weak teams.

Sure, blame your teammates. Classy.
(EDIT: Though I couldn't help noticing you had a pretty good Saturday night yourself, Mr. 51 fan points...)

I'm not going down with them!
Nah, a lot of the bottom feeding HF teams are playing without key players (Salo, Forsberg, Langenbrunner, Weber) and underachieving players (Crosby, Modano, Semin, Staal). Who knows whether those guys will ever get going but those teams should rise up a bit if they do.
I'm pretty happy with my team so far but I'd be doing better if bloody Jokinen and Jovanovski would get going. Things are looking good if Elias continues to produce though.

Thank you. I'm Team Underachievers thus far. Semin, Vyborny, Kozlov, and even Huet have been busts. I'm sure at least half of those guys can pick it up.

Yep, I expect Semin at the least to get it going and Vyborny and Kozlov should both improve as well. Huet is a bit of a wild card as I'm not sold on Montreal this year but even he can put up better numbers than he has so far.

I've noticed that even a losing goalie puts up pretty decent points with our scoring system, actually--provided he's getting some shots directed his way. Vesa Toskala earned 7.5 points for me in that loss the other day.

Just an update to how the death-match is going. We CPers are still steadily widening our lead. Here are the average scores:
CP Avg: 310.2111
HF Avg: 291.58
What was a 5 point spread is now almost a 19 point spread. This in spite of 2 of the top 3 scorers being HFers. The runaway leader is still "the dion show" for us, but Cerebral and BleedOil83 are in 2nd and 3rd, followed by yours truly, and Hunter74 hot on my heels.
What really drags HF down is that they have all 5 of the worst scores. Tough break, Cerebral. Looks like you backed the wrong braintrust!
