I only have one question- where can I buy some?

Seriously, I was expecting cheap seats to be around $1500 each.

350 is a lot of money but there will be a demand for these. I expected them to be quite a bit higher. It would definitely be an experience to be there, but I think I will enjoy watching the game on my big screen.

Just wait til the Legal Scalpers (Ticket websites) get a hold of them...

You'll get your wish.

Why the heck should people who buy tickets be forced to subsidize free tickets. What a joke, could they not have gotten a corporation to sponsor those. Geesh.

$350 is very reasonable for tix for gold medal hockey game for an event held in Canada.

Pricing for the tickets to the Games was released Thursday, with the lowest-priced tickets at $25 and the highest $775 for a seat at the men's gold medal hockey game.
Huh? I see that they're $25...

I believe they're referring to the Olympic games as a whole...not just hockey.

Of the 1.6 million tickets that will be for sale, half will be priced at less than $100 and 100,000 will be available for $25.

But that doesn't mean high-demand events will have tickets at those prices. The $25 tickets are available for biathlon, cross-country skiing and some early rounds of women's hockey only.

Well the article makes no sense then as it says that the gold medal game for men's hockey will have $25 seats, and if that's not a high demand game, I'm not certain what would qualify.

Not to mention the thread title is confusing as it's not $350 for a cheap seat, it's $350 for an average seat.

I don't think it says that anywhere.
It says:
"But that doesn't mean high-demand events will have tickets at those prices. The $25 tickets are available for biathlon, cross-country skiing and some early rounds of women's hockey only."

No mens hockey game will have tickets that low

Ah, so I read it incorrectly. It was a poorly written sentence and I didn't finish reading the article.

I agree...that quote (not sure where you got it from) is badly worded...but there won't be any $25 for a mens hockey game...from the 2010 website...

The cheapest seat for the mens hockey gold medal game is $350....in the "c" level...the cheapest seat for any mens hockey is $50 in the prelims/qualifications in the "c" level.

Talking about tickets...is anyone going to put there name into the lotteries just for the hell of it? I have NO idea where I'll be at that time but worst comes to worst I'm sure you can sell these tickets for quite a pretty penny come 2010.
