I would disagree, technically they did indeed run the red light- they did not stop at the stop line.

To me- not clearing the intersection can be worst than running the light. If you run the light, you tie up traffic for a second or two. If you block the intersection, you prevent traffic from flowing. One might be more dangerous than another, but both are bad.

Now, as we all know, to calculate probabilities, take the chance FOR and subtract it from 100% for each condition, then multiply those numbers, and finally subtract that product from 100%, so

40% * 20% * 10% = .8%; 100% - .8% = 99.2% chance of the truck driver being a useless waste of skin; even with granting the possibility that originally he "didn't need" to let anyone in if he didn't want to. So essentially if you defend this guy, you are really, really bucking the odds here.
Haha.
I bet this guy floored it as soon as he got onto a main road as well.

Anyone else notice guys driving their F350 diesel duallys like sports cars in Calgary? I see it downtown on a daily basis.

ROFL! AlbertGQ only tends to text while traveling at 125kph so it likely wasn't him. Hmm, is 4x4 a possible candidate?

jammies post of probabilities was excellent...............

ha!

i was at the game with the guy who made this thread and the ###### did indeed floor it at the next intersection...and then we pulled up right next to him at the stop sign as the area around the dome was a parking lot as usual last night.

the best part was the people in the cars ahead of us that we let in were hysterically laughing and waving at us because they could clearly see what was going on.

Seriously....

Like I realize your truck is probably worth alot of money because of your lift kit, rims, and HUGE tires, but there is no need to create a huge black cloud of diesel fumes at every stop light. You aren't impressing anyone.

... don't even get me started on guys who do it in their Z24 Cavaliers.....

I do the same thing.. if someone drives confidently I have no problem letting them in.. its the over cautious brake tap 5 car length following distance people that I usually drive around.. Oh and I quite enjoy blanketing people's cars with thick diesel smoke.. Try it sometime before you bash it

Once while leaving a parking lot at Scotiabank Place, I encountered someone who wouldn't let anyone in and was tailgating the car in front of him as closely as he could.

Anyways, this jerk ended up rear ending the truck in front of him. I enjoyed passing him while he was exchanging insurance information with the large and very angry guy whose truck he hit.

I see it on 5th ave everyday. They floor it between lights and waste $2 dollars in gas to go one block. If they want a sports car they can go by a g35 coupe like everyone else downtown.

Actually diesel is really cheap and I get about 20 mpg.. Besides those gutless imports usually lose to my truck in a race anyhow.. Why would I buy a sports car when my truck can haul 15,000 pounds, carry 5 people comfortably and still run the 1/4 mile in 15 flat.. Plus carry my dirtbike, move my friends and have a decent resale value in 5 years..

No, because its not the law to let someone in. It may be courteous, but its not the law. If someone wants in my lane, they are more than welcomed to as long as its behind me!

Actually, that's also how I read your post. "Instead of treating your truck like a sports car, you should buy a sports car."
