it was funny but didn't seem to flow that well for me. the 2 halves seemed a little disjointed and could easily have been 2 seperate episodes. that said, it was still a funny episode. the dwight-cat killer stuff was funny as hell. a little sad to see karen gone though

For me the funniest part was the whole Dwight killing the cat bit.

(paraphrasing)

"I think Dwight might have killed my cats"
"What makes you think that?"
"When I opened the freezer all my bags of frozen french fries were shredded to pieces"

and
"Did you kill my cat?"
"I'm a farmer"
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means I know when an animal has to be put down"

and
"What use are cats? They don't produce any milk or wool or meat."

I thought it was pretty funny myself. Most office episodes I have seen have this awkward-disjointed yet hilarious flow.

One thing i noticed was that Ryan reminded me a lot of Brent from the Uk version. when he was talking about the wunderkind, and he did that little look of to the side, it was totally Gervais.

I was underwhelmed with the episode. The funniest part for me was the discussion in the board room about the giant cheque.

The thing that I liked about the show from the start was its believability...but the fact that Michael is able to pull off these stupid events day in and day out without reprocussions kinda ruins it.

Not a bad episode! I am concerned that this is getting too serious at times though...hopefully it doesn't become Friends after season one.

I liked the fact that tonight's episode showed that Michael isn't a total ###### all the time. The first couple of seasons you could sometimes see a sensitive side of Michael which has been kinda obscured in the last two seasons.

I don't know why people say that about Friends. The funniest episodes came in the later seasons, by far.

Friends wasn't as good when their timeslot changed from 9:30 to 8:00.

All the characters changed, and most for the worse. I didn't care for Joey in the early seasons, but he really got much better the last few seasons. Chandler went up and down with Matthew Perry's addictions. Ross and Rachel was overdone - the milked that cow 'til the teats fell off. Phoebe wasn't as funny when they ditched the 'flighty thinks she is psychic' part of her character, although she still had her moments. And Monica went from girl next door type with a complex about her parents to a neurotic flake.

But back to The Office - I think these one hour episodes are a bit too long. Each one has had some dry spots that really seem to slow the episodes down. A bit of editing could help the flow. Still many funny parts, the episodes just don't seem to pace very well. And I used to like Ryan, but his role now just sucks. We need more of the "life around the office" aspect and less soap opera-ness.

I have to warn people about the proprietor of Shrute Farms - he may portray himself as a gentleman farmer, but he is not what he seems!

He killed my cat, sprinkles!!!

Who knows what he might do to you or your loved ones....

I agree with you here. I am hoping this stays a funny, clever comedy and doesn't turn into more of a soap-opera. I don't mind the dating aspect, but the focus still needs to be on work to some extent. Maybe you're right though, and this is a symptom of the hour long episodes...there are still some parts that are comedy gold in there!

Not a bad episode. I agree with you guys, the hour long is a bit much. Id prefer the supersized ones. The drama stuff is getting a bit much but I can put up with it if they continue to throw out one liners like "No one, uh asked you anything ever so whomever's name is Toby, why don't you take a letter opener and stick it in your skull?" That made me burst out laughing.

Wasn't the cat Andy caught/gave to Angela really just Garbage the cat Dwight gave her?

I guess I'm a little down on my street lingo - what did Kelli sign to Daryl?

Crap list! It doesn't include Andy floating away in the sumo suit..

"Angela! Angela! Thank god you're here!"
"What Andy?"
"I'm floating away, you've got to help me!"
"I can't understand you Andy, what do you want me to do?"
"See what I'm doing? Go tell someone that!"
"Bye Andy!"
"ANGELA!"

And then later
"Hello?!"
"My name is Andrew Bernard, I'm with a group called Dunder Mifflen! Hello!?"

My favourite was when Jim was sending Dwight faxes from himself in the future.
