Here's the Calgary Police Service's annual report from 2006 (it includes stats for 5 years from 2002):

Oddly, sex crimes and assaults have been declining over the years.
Sadly, this is a side effect of a booming city and economy. If there is a positive, there are still very few random homicides of strangers killing strangers. In general, if you don't get involved in shady behavior or with shady people, the chances of being killed in a homicide are still extremely low in Calgary.
