Default 2010 Vancouver Tickets go on sale in 365 days

http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/Part...s/TicketPrices

$1150 top price for a ticket in BC Place for the Opening ceremony, $775 for a top ticket to the Gold Medal mens hockey.

Steep, but, given the demand, probably priced fairly accurate to those conditions.

Digging up an old peliminary round game (my dad took us to two games) in 1988, the ticket price was $25, now they're $80 it appears for mid range tickets.

Also we took in Bobsleigh back in then, I think it was $10 for a basic ticket.

Over 2 years away, but looking forward to heading out there for a weekend and take in the festivities and maybe a basic event or two. With the inlaws living on the island, the biggest hurdle of accomodation is solved, although just as daunting will be the traffic snarls from Horseshoe Bay to any and all of the venues.

Almost 20 years since the last Olympics here, wished I was a bit older than 12 at the time, but, its probably likely that it will be another 20+ years before Canada gets a sniff at the Olympics, and probably not a hour hop on the plane like it will be in '10.

Hahaha.

I really want to go, and I'm going to try my best to save up for the trip, but jeez. Those prices are steep. But, I guess it'd cost about as much to go as it would to get tickets to the Penguins game, so it's all relative.

Since I'll never be able to afford tickets to anything, I really want to apply for a volunteer position for the games. I'll have just graduated, and I can speak four languages... its worth a shot! Did anyone volunteer at all during the Calgary games??

Put a jar on your kitchen counter and throw a few bucks and all your loose change in there every couple days or so.

A year is plenty of time to save up $700 or so this way.

You'd be surprised how much money you can collect by doing something so simple!!!

I won't be going to the Gold medal game, but I'm definitely going to try and get tickets. Tickets for the Canada vs Germany game in 2002 were 125 each and it was probably a top five moment in my life thus far. To get the opportunity to cheer on Canada on home soil in the Olympics only happens every 20 years or so.

Sweet. We should do a CP trip- and it could be like team USA in 1998 all over again!

It would certainly be pretty cool to be there in a gold medal game, but not worth that much money to me. I have great memories of Canada winning the last go round without being at the game, and I'm sure it'll be just as intense in a Vancouver bar downtown and after the game should Canada win it again.

i wonder how many individual event tickets will be available versus packaged events. For the World Juniors, for example, you have to buy all the games, you can't just buy Canada or the gold medal game. Sucks, but it might be the only way they can sell out Japan vs Ukraine is to package it with Canadian games

I dunno if they are still accepting volunteers, it's worth a shot, but I know a friend of mine had to put his name on a list way back in '04!
