THE Ville Peltonen! Ah ha ha ha, I love it. One of my best trades of the summer so far, Peltonen for Cowan. Anyway, hopefully I get to play some other teams soon. Constantly beating the crap outta the Pens is getting a little old.
And some props to GM favorite Glen Metropolit. 3 games, 9 points. ROBBED last week for the Player of the Week Award, looks like he's still wanting to lift that hardware. Another 2 points tonight.

maybe we should start a support group
I have no idea whether I should gut my whole team, or just chalk things up to the awesomeness that is the Bruins...having 5 off days after losing 11-2 hasn't helped my fragile mindset

Can you do me a favour and continue to suck over the next couple of days? I'd like to stick around in the Survivor hunt as long as possible.
Thanks Goffie... you're a pal!

Flyers 5-Capitals 2
Flyers finally found the win column with dominant 5-2 win against the Washington Capitals. Playing the Capitals for the second time already, the Flyers knew they would have to be better than they were in their first two games. The game started off in a familiar way with the Flyers giving up two early goals. Luckily for the Flyers the notoriously good natured fans of Philly showed their usual patience and kind hearts and cheered their boys back into the game. After a few penalties from the dirty Capitals the Flyers were able to get on the board and make a game of it. Captain Brendan Shanahan tied up the game and Selanne put the Flyers ahead for good just before the end of the period.
After a slow second period the Flyers second line got in on the act and scored two more goals to rub it in Hesla’s grubby little face.
GM moon was busy talking deals so only had this to say:
“That’s what you get when you go on fancy pants vacations to Europe. Your team gets spanked by a much better team led by a much better looking GM.”
The only down side of the game for the Flyers was the BS ejection of Mike Richards in the first. Richards was working on a hat trick and if not for the pathetic dive by Jussi Jokinen very likely could have potted five or six more goals.
Farm Report:
The Phantoms continued to steam roll through the AHL as they whopped up on the Hershey Bears for a second time this season 11-5. Daniel Manzato showed that there is a little goaltending skill down on the AHL team, key word little. Jason Krog had a four goal game and sure would look solid on many CPHL teams (perhaps for a 75 OV+ forward, with a 71-74 DF rating). Many others had great offensive games and the team went out for beers and pizza at the Chinatown Hooters all on Hesla's dime after the Washington GM left his wallet lying around the rink in his rush to get to Oktoberfest.
