T.I. In Concert in Calgary November 9th
taken from the Facebook group already started:
"Grammy Award Winning Rapper T.I. comes to Perform in Calgary for the First Time Ever
Multi-platinum two time Grammy Award winning recording artist and Co-CEO of Grand Hustle Records, T.I will be coming to Calgary to perform live in concert. This highly anticipated performance, which is presented to you by Vibe 98.5 FM & Black Ice, will be taking place at the Stampede Corral in the heart of downtown Calgary on Friday November 9th. With a special surprise guest opener this is sure to be one of the best shows that Calgary has seen in years.
Since the debut of his first album in 2001, titled I'm Serious, T.I. has become one of the rare hip-hop artists who can not only say that his fan base and record sales have increased with each new release, but that the critical accolades have continued to flow as well. The release of this year's most anticipated rap album T.I. vs. T.I.P., which is nearing gold album status in Canada and Platinum status in the U.S., has allowed us to view both sides of one of contemporary music's most compelling characters. T.I. explained the album's title, saying, "It's basically a battle within myself. There's nobody out there doing what I do as well as I do it, so I see myself as worthy competition for myself.
The highlight of his career arrived earlier this year with the win of his two Grammy's for Best Rap Solo Performance for the song "What you Know" and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for the song "My Love" performed with Justin Timberlake. T.I. has also been honored with awards and nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Awards, World Music Awards, Vibe Awards, Mobo Awards, and the Teen Choice Awards.
Live In Concert Nov.9th, Grammy Award Winning Rapper T.I comes to Calgary for the FIRST TIME EVER. Do not miss this special Engagement!!!!

I think they misspelled T.I. and it's suppose to be I.T. as in the rapper Ice Tea. Must be some sort of Law and Order style concert.

I'm jealous of Winnipeg who get TI and fabolous with Kanye West. In van, we get Ludacris with Kanye, but I would have rather seen TI then Luda. Oh well, Kanye should be great anyway.

He is the Jay Z of the South, he is huge. I am not really into rap anymore.. but an artist like T.I is a good reason to keep listening.

T.I. is the King of the Souf. Period. If you haven't heard of him go out and listen to some of his stuff. He's my favourite rapper by a mile these days.

My guess is that's what "south" sounds like when you have a mouth full of platinum.
Rap and the Internet are destroying the English language.

T.I. is alright live. He gets the crowd pretty hype and is entertaining. A crowd in Calgary is going to know about a total of 1 1/2 to 2 songs total from him. I give half marks because they will know his hooks, but no one will know the verses except for maybe, "What You Know". He's a star in the US and even out East, but not out here. I am confident that the show will absolutely sell out and the venue will be rammed inside with people getting rejected at the door. What I don't like is that he's a rapper that likes to perform entire songs (which I'm not a fan of) and with a city/crowd that doesn't know your songs word for word - It WILL kill your vibe. I listen to T.I. and even play all of his music and I don't even know all the lyrics to his songs. How are casual hip-hop/T.I. fans going to know them?
I will be in Vancouver for the Kanye show with Luda and I'm making it to Winnipeg, the next night for Fab and T.I. I'll let ya'll know how those shows go. Thse crowds are totally different from each other and a wild contrast from Calgary crowds also.
The only artist I haven't seen is Fab - Who I am really excited to see how he translates on stage from his records and videos. Kanye is a beast on stage and is pure entertainer. Luda has honed his live show as well, but hasn't been on tour in a minute. Let's hope he's not as rusty as I am anticipating.

I don't think it's rap music. Rap has it's own world and thing going on that they live through every day. Pop culture in general is what ruins everything... including the English language. When something becomes "hot", everyone jumps on it regardless of what genre of entertainment, religion, etc. it comes from. The term "souf" is strictly used by people within hip-hop culture. It hasn't caught on to mainstream cliches.

I wasn't just talking about the south specifically, but all the words that have spawned from the genre. And rap/hip-pop is part of popular culture. Regardless, they definitely haven't helped the language.

What thing that they live through every day? Going to the record label and collecting a pay cheque?
