Kiprusoff's name comes up in trade talks!
During a recent media scrum at the Pengrowth Saddledome, GM Axmann let it slip that Miikka Kiprusoff's name has come up in trade talks.
"Nobody and I mean nobody is untouchable" said Axmann. "Whatever it takes to make my team better now or for the future, I am willing to do it." When asked if he would be willing to trade his star goaltender, Axmann replied, "dont you guys listen".
Rumour mill at hockeyblab.com stated that Axmann had in fact been in touch with a couple of teams, talking about moving Kipper. Axmann has targeted some specific teams about moving the former Vezina trophy winner. Hockeyblabber, Ekelunde says that some teams are too scared to win and this might actually make them think a little bit more about making some trades that you might not normally see.
Axmann will be the first to admit that he had never considered moving his number 1 tender, but says, that you have to do what you have to do!
