I wonder if that is going to give the riders the momentum back.

Henry is hoping to play next week, what a boost that would be for the Stamps.

Until that last pass he was looking good. The Stamps need a miracle to win this, 33-21 with 1:23 left.

The outcome of the game did not dissapoint me because it was expected. I was dissapointed with Akili Smith's play and I say Sayonara, Adios Amigo, Ta Ta Akili, and Arriverdecci to Smith once Burris comes back. Akili looks slow, undecided and just can't throw the ball. Our defense stayed in the field for way too long in the 1st half because of Akili's inability. I know it is too late now but I think if Smith got pulled after the 1st half, we could have gotten the chance to win the football game. Another thing that killed the Stamps were the unnecssary penalties. Terence Patrick late hit on the QB in the first half. Riders could have been 3rd down and punt but instead they got a chance on their 1st down and ended up scoring a TD. I see a lot of positives on the 2nd half and at least my confidence with the Stamps winning the next game is much, much better than the last 2 games. Hopefully Tom Higgins is not dumb enough to start Akili Smith again if Burris does not come back next game. I would prefer to see Barrick Nealy over Smith anytime. Now we all know why Akili Smith is no longer playing in the NFL. Him and Ryan Leaf are the biggest high draft flop in the history of the NFL.

Amazed to see smith with such poor stats, hopefully burris comes back healthy or the stamps are going to be looking at another early playoff exit.

^^Yeah I agree. If Burris is healthy enough to dress then cut Smith and have Sankey as the backup.

Can't remember who it was on the CBC panel but they made a good point about Smith - he played 'too NFL' to be successful in the CFL. Every play, he dropped back 3-5 yards and was directly behind the center waiting to pass and usually had the pocket collapsed around him. In order for Smith to be successful, he needed to run around and roll out a bit combined with pocket passing. You won't succeed with receivers running 7-15 yard patterns and the QB sitting in the pocket 3 yards off the line - he was a sitting duck back there. But, that's the way he was trained to play. Agreed that Sankey was WAY better - Smith will stick around til the end of the year I'm guessing and won't be back next year.

You don't win games with 9 rushing yards!

I can't figure out why we REFUSE to run the ball with one of the best backs in the league. I don't think Reynolds had a carry in either the 2nd or 3rd quarter....

^^^^ Reynolds could have gain more yardages if their play calling was not predictable early on the game. I am not a defensive coordinator but I knew what was Akili Smith play are going to be. First down, give it Joffrey. If Joffrey doesn't get the first down Akili will throw the ball. THe problem was Riders' defense knows it so they stuffed the line so Joffrey does not have any room to run. Then of course, it doesn't help that Duncan O'Mahoney have more punts than the Stamps' first down. You cannot survive the game if your offense only have 3-4 plays in one segment.

Oh don't get me started on Cortez!!! We have had the most predictable offense in the CFL all year long. Even with Burris at the helm it's painful to see the play selection. However, Burris appears to have enough talent to get through the brutal play calls. If with the middle was plugged up you still have to hammer the ball to keep the defense honest. Besides they can get Reynolds involved in more ways than just running. How many screens did they run? Saskatchewan's defense was coming after us with their ears pinned back cause they knew we weren't running so why not try to make them pay for being overly aggressive? Instead they hung Smith out to dry with predictable throws underneath. The coverage was tight all game long because we refused to take a shot down the field. Sometimes you got to toss it 50 yards just to prove you can...

Then Sankey comes in and looks great for the first drive but instead of trying to re-establish the run after we pull within 8 they decide to just keep gunning and the result is an INT on a poorly thrown ball. Maybe I'm too old school but you win games by playing "smash mouth football" and over powering your opponents while wearing them out.

Just looking back at the stats... Reynolds had 42 yards on 10 carries...that's not even that bad!

Uhhh, Riders had trouble beating a Stamp team playing a 4th string QB? Riders won't be doing anything in the playoffs - again.
