Default Car Flags

I don't know if this is the suitable section for this or not... feel free to move this thread mods...

I live in Ottawa (as stated in my location) and as I was walking to a bus stop yesterday I saw a car, an ontario plate no less, with a Flames car flag on it! A pretty strange sight to see here in Ottawa especially since the Sens went to the cup finals last year...

Got me thinking, how are those car flags in Calgary? people puttin em up yet?

I usually see at least one Flames flag a day.

I have a few of them kicking around the house, just don't want to put it on my car for the entire season. It's more of a playoff thing for me.

I ususally put mine up here in Victoria, but last year people seem to be trying to break it off and I am worried they will take my side window with it. Kinda pisses me off I can't show my team pride because some Canuck "fans" want to prove a point or something.

Agreed. Lets face it, we see flags here in Calgary for almost every team you can name. Just because it isnt your team is no reason to wreck someone else's stuff.

At the last Stamps/Roughriders game in Calgary, I was heading to the University and at the intersection of Crowchild and Kensington there were two trucks beside each other at the red light, one full of Stamps fans with big flag, and the other ditto except full of Roughriders fans.

These guys were going at it at the light, which was awesome to see, they were having a good time, which is the way it should be. Regardless of who you cheer for, you're all going to have a few drinks at the tailgate party, so lighten up.

At the end of the day, we all live here, and its just a game. Its supposed to be fun.

That's my theory in a nutshell. Do you really hate someone because they happen to cheer for the team that is geographically the closest to them? (How most people choose thier sports team).

I've travelled to see my junior team on the road, I'd encounted idiots in rinks, but for hte most part people are civil. I think it might have something to do with the fact that if you make fun of my team, and what you say is actually funny, I laugh. Or if I do trash a player, I'll always end the conversation with "in fairness, I really like player X. Skates well, makes a good first pass, etc"

I've got friends that are Oilers fans, Canucks fans, and the dreaded Habs and Leafs fans. Give credit where credit's due, and don't hate someone because of their sports team, don't damage their property because they like a different team than you. Seriously, how childish, idiotic, and stupid is that?

Well said MQS and Locke!

I for sure can't stand people wrecking my flag or whatever it is that I have of my favourite team. Just because u think ur team is better doesn't mean u can go around tearing stuff down. Learn to respect fans of the other teams
