Default MLB Playoff Thread!

MLB Playoffs open today with 3 games:

Wednesday October 3, 2007

All Game #1's in a best of 5 series

Colorado @ Philadelphia - 1 pm

Pitchers: Jeff Francis @ Cole Hamels

LA Angels @ Boston - 4:30 pm

Pitchers: John Lackey @ Josh Beckett

Chicago Cubs @ Arizona - 8pm

Pitchers: Carlos Zambrano @ Brandon Webb

I really hope the Red Sox make short work of the Angels and get the win tonight to start things off.

Yeah that would be cool with all the crosswords and such.

I'm hoping for a Red Sox-Cubs World Series.

As long as the Cubs and Red Sox lose I couldn't care less which of the remaining teams win. Especially the Red Sox.

That said I can't see any of the NL teams winning it all this year. They are all so far behind the four AL teams, and probably 3-4 other teams in the AL, that the winner of the AL should be able to walk through the NL champ.

Anyone know if the Colorado/Philly game is being broadcast online? Can't find it anywhere. (Radio broadcast)

You have to pay to hear MLB radio calls online I believe. Gameday on mlb.com is pretty good if you are stuck at work.

However a NYY-Bos ALCS would be amazing to watch. I hope the Indians beat the Yankees but knowing the Yankees would probably play the Red Sox in round 2 isn't so bad. That series from a few years ago was the best baseball series i've ever seen.

EDIT: Colorado up 3-0 on Philadelphia.

Yeah I think an Indians vs. Phillies or Rockies vs. Indians would be an entertaining series. It will likely end up being like the Angels and the D-Backs in a series that nobody watches though.

Yankee/Red Sox playoff series would be a match made in heaven. All the history and bad blood would make for intense series.

Rockies win game one 4-2. 15 of their last 16 now for Colorado, they're red hot.

It was a great game too, Francis pitched well only giving up 2 runs both coming off solo home runs in the 5th. Hammel didn't look so good, always behind in the count.

Colorado looks to be the "cinderella" team of the NL if they can keep it up.

I really wouldn't want to play the Cubs in the 2nd round. As "jinxed" or "cursed" as they are, they would be motivated as hell.

Boston and NY already win too much, so I'm rooting for Cleveland in the AL.

Philly vs Cleveland in the World Series would be nice. May a championship be awarded a championship starved city.

Jeff Francis was on the TEAM 1040 in Vancouver this morning found his comments about yesterdays game to be interesting. He said he felt uncomfortable the entire game, and was just thankful to get pulled.

What the hell kind of show is TBS trying to run here? I liked the good old days when we could actually watch all the games! But now?? Well, the Yankees v. Indians game is being played, yet I am watching Seinfeld and poker????? WTF is this. I want ESPN or NBC back. This is BS!

Oh, unless Im missing something and the game is on. In that case, could you friendly folks point be to the correct channel???

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!
