I think Pita Pit reigns supreme over Subway any day. Waaaay less bread, much more fillings. I'm all about the veggies, and they pack them right full!

LOL tesselated chese!
As for subway, I'm no fan. Their restaurants have too much constant raw yeast aroma (and not the good baked bread smell) and the sandwiches are too big to fit in my mouth.
Give me a double cheeseburger any day, that'll fill me up for hours. Give me a subway sandwich and I'll still be eating that for a week. Why isn't there a 3 inch sub?

Raw baked smell?
Hmmm, the new subway here in town, well new when I was in high school had an awesome aroma of freshly baked bread.
Everything was awesome there though....but the Subway at the food court in the Park Place mall didn't even come close.
I don't think the same high standard of food is applied at every subway. Some are downright awful....some just great.

Agreed.
Oh, also, I'm always drunk before a pita from Pita Pit (pretty much every time I spend an evening on/around 17th Ave. - Damn, they're good!)

But still a huge amount of carbs (if you care about that sort of thing!).

Speaking of Quizno's, anyone notice that their bread is about half the width it was when the chain first started popping up around 6/7 years ago. It happened gradually, and then when they "lowered their prices" they also significantly reduced the size of the buns.
Subway has become extremely overpriced. The sub I used to eat was $6.99, 2 years ago. Now it's $8.99 for a sandwich that doesn't even fill me up? No wonder people choose McD's over subway. You can get a double cheeseburger meal for less than half the price of most subway sandwiches.
ps. Safeway sells a huge loaded lumberjack sub for $7.99. That thing will feed most people for 3 days.

Dangit I'm wanting a sub now too. My own pet peeve is when you ask for banana peppers and they put those pieces with the *%&#ing stems into your sandwhich. For christs sakes, you can clearly see and feel the wood in those pieces!! INEDIBLE!! I always ask nicely for them to remove them, and then they play stupid like they don't know what I'm talking about.
No wonder Jared lost so much weight; bowel obstructions have a way of doing that.

Well me being 17 years old i work at subway. I can tell you that subway is pretty healthy other than the cold cut sub and the meatball sub. If you are looking for a really healthy sub you can have a 6 inch on wheat turkey with no cheese and just mustard as a sauce, that’s about 270 calories. Trust me the cheese is loaded with calories. On a 6 inch (2 pieces of cheese) there is about 70-80 calories of just cheese! Also mayo is probably the WORST sauce there with like 60 calories per 1 tbsp and the southwest sauce isn’t that far behind for being the worst with like 50/55 calories per 1 tbsp. One more thing STAY AWAY FROM THE COOKIES!! You guys are going to be surprised but 1 cookie has like 220 calories!!! It’s NOT worth it lol.

Tubby bugger didn't have a long enough break from selling bootlegs of porn to walk out of the dorm. He had to stay in house at dine at the Subway.

300 calories isn't much for a meal.
I usually avoid the cookies....and take the footlong. And drink lots of water while I eat it. Keeps me full for a few hours.

Those lumberjack subs are awesome, but yeah, if you get the large one, make sure you have some friends.
Safeway has some really good fresh-made sandwhiches themselves. Plymouth Rock is my favorite - turkey, mayo, cranberry sauce, lettuce.

I used to do that too.
Until they banned the hell out of me for it. How many people get booted from a pita pit? Probably more than you'd think.
I cant even remember the number of times I went into that Pita pit, gooned out of my tree just looking for some food....one guy goes through a window and the party's cancelled....

Yeah but I'm not paying $7-$9 for a whole wheat bun with turkey and mustard. I'll bring one from home that costs $1 or less.

lol, please do tell the story. Did they accidentally put pickles in your pita?
That pita pit on 17th used to annoy me, because by the time I got there after a hard night of drinking, my bladder would be so full, but they never had any washrooms. I just about got exiled from there there too, for "finding a suitable alternative" washroom

I like pickles, that would have been an improvement.
There was nothing wrong with the pita, just something wrong with the night manager...
I went out drinking with my rec soccer team, and by this time of the night we had already racked up a good $1100 tab at the Yardhouse between 8 of us. Needless to say we were starving after consuming that much liquid gold.
There was a line-up for pitas. I had to 'go.' I ordered my late night snack, and then went off in search of relief. This part will be yada-yada'ed for legal reasons. I returned, and my food was curiously absent. I patiently waited in line once more. I again ordered my meal.
My attention was desperately requested elsewhere for a matter involving life and death.
This matter shall not be mentioned or my GF will kill me. It never happened. I never mentioned it. Needless to say, it's 'direness' was questionable at best, but at the time it seemed crucially important.
I once again returned to the counter, and once again my meal was remarkably lacking in presence.
I resumed my place in line, and thrice completed my order. My presence was once again commanded to a distant table. I told them to 'jog on' in less polite vernacular. I'm starving. The lady hands me my pita.
The night manager immediately arrives whilst frantically waving at me. He is some pissed off and holding a pita in either hand. He may as well have been screaming at me in Cantonese, because its late, I'm drunk, I finally got my hands on some food and I'm really not paying any attention to him.
He demands payment for two extraneously prepared pitas. With a mouthful of pita I am extremely polite and agree to pay him. I believe it might have come off as a sarcastic remark, for which he had very little patience.
At this exact moment, a soccer player with a mouthful of pita who shall remain nameless for legal reasons, is un-ceremoniously body-checked through a window. A pita may or may not have hit a pedestrian, we didnt stick around to find out.
It was impolitely requested that I no longer patronize that particular establishment as we gradually made our stumbling and haphazard escape.
See if I buy a pita from you again Mr. Grumpy night manager. I was a perfect gentleman.

I've been eating at Subway every workday for lunch for the past ten years... I have zero problem getting a perfect sub made.... including the owner heads to the fridge in the back to pull out some fresh meat when i walk in the door. the Artist cuts open the new bag for me... every day, meat is almost a half inch think.

The pizza place next to Blockbuster seems to be where we get in the most trouble. Some roid-monkey wanted to pick a fight with me one night because I wouldn't let him cut in front of me. I pointed to the six gentlemen who had escorted me in that night (one of them being 6'4" and 350 lbs) and he backed off.
