Ipod touch!
Because I got a big discount at work, I ordered a 16GB Ipod touch. I have never owned an Ipod before, and this one has quite a few intriguing features. The storage capacity is just fine for me, too.
It should be arriving Monday or Tuesday, and I will post my impressions here. I am so excited!

Im considering getting one, so I'll be curious to see what you think. I've never owned an ipod either, always gone with their competitors.

iPod is the best mp3 player ANYWHERE! The iPod Touch is basically the iPhone without the phone. The 16GB may not hold as much music as I want, but it'll still be a great device to have with all of it's capabilities.

Mine will be here Monday or Tuesday as well - I can't wait to get my hands on it.

What's the best place to get one?
E-Bay?

I bought mine via Futureshop.ca because I was able to use a fair number of gift cards, but I haven't heard of any place handing out any discounts yet.
In fact I'm pretty sure I don't want to know now!

How long does the battery last for?

hard to say since i'm not on the web straight, just notice the battery icon decreaseing a fair bit over the useage of a day. i do tend to forget to turn off the wifi when not in use, so that might contribute to it.
the webmsn app is pretty cool tho (beejive or somethin like that)
Found this though ( http://ptech.allthingsd.com/20070920...-battery-life/)

The company claims that the Touch can play music for up to 22 hours and video for up to five hours on a single battery charge, even with Wi-Fi turned on. But in my tests, using factory settings, music playback lasted just under 17 hours and video playback lasted just over four hours. Nearly every other iPod I’ve tested, including the new Nano, handily beat Apple’s battery claims.

You should turn the wifi off except when you want to surf the web. That would really kill the battery.

If it's anything like the rest of the HDD based iPods, 8 hour max charge, ~10-12 months battery life.
If there was one thing about the Apple products I can't stand it would be the inability to replace the battery easily.

Well, apparently my Ipod touch is in Calgary and on it's way to be delivered now. In a few hours, I will post my impressions.
I wonder if it will be as cool as the videos make it seem. Regardless, I'm excited!

I was going to get an iPod Touch but I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on a neutered iPhone when I am already with AT&T Wireless. Yes the Edge is slow but AT&T has one of the best networks in Texas.

If i had access to the iphone (without hacking) I would get that over the touch. It's a much better deal, but up in canada we don't have too much of a choice.
Gonna suck when the battery recharge cycle dies on this thing.

Hey guys, my 16GB Ipod touch just came by Canada Post a minute ago!
It's very thin, and a little heavier than I expected. I am about to hook it up to my computer for the first time!...
