Well I like my team, except the goalies. Gonna have to mess with that.

I forgot to do that in one of my baseball pools this year and some guy was picking up pitchers every night....annoying.

I think we should set it to whatever is decided at the start of the season, then leave it untouched...i.e. we all stick to the same rules.
Here's another proposal for the yahoo playoffs: Eliminate any add/drops. The team you enter the playoffs with is the team you go to war with. Injuries be damned.

Another thing I completely forgot about week-to-week. It takes a lot of the strategy out of managing your goalies. If my guys go out and start the week with 4 great games combined (i.e. 3W, 1.20GAA, 0.940SV%, 1SO), I should be able to bench them for the rest of the week and keep those numbers. Or if the guys are kinda sucking and my opponent's are putting up good numbers, then I can start mine in every game that week to take a run at the W and SO categories.
That right there is the biggest reason I ask for daily starts. It rewards being active in the pool.

Seriously? I'd say that's just as bad as swapping your bottom players every day! Week to week has a lot of goalie strategy as well - especially if you have multiple goalies, such as who do you play, who are they playing, can you beat both your opponents goalie's for wins with your best goalie in a given weak, thus making it easier for you to win GAA and SV%, etc.

Hrm? I'm not talking about adding and dropping goalies. Given that 2/4 goalie categories are average based (GAA, SV%), and not necessarily positively effected by having as many starts as possible (W, SO, G, A, PPP, etc.), it kind of makes sense that you should try to manage the starts as they go.
Another thing I have against week to week is that if someone forgets about the pool for one Sunday, they're screwed for the whole week and the other guy gets an easy go of things...kind of unfair to the rest of the pool. If this happens to someone more than once, they may fall behind and give up. Yet another thing that can lead to decreased interest....

Well, I'm fine with whatever the collective wants, just throwing out options. I would think given everyone's high level of interest in the game they'd keep pretty current on the fantasy front too. There will always be one or two teams who quit, it's pretty standard.
I've played both week to week and day to day and I take the same approach I pick all my players for the week on Sunday (for day to day you can select ahead of time) after I've finished making my NHL picks. ;-)

I dunno. I think that it's a bit cheap. In a sense, this makes a shutout/good performance at the start of the week more valuable, because you can lock in a 1.000 SV%, 0.00 GAA for the entire week if it's on a Monday, but if you get a shutout on Friday you're more likely around 0.950 SV%, 1.20 GAA.

Not really... we don't have that many bench players, so chances are you're going to leave your roster set most weeks anyways. I know I will anyways, my 3rd LW is Ben Enger and my 3rd RW is Boyd Gordon. And if you forget to bench your goalies... that's even worse. Forget one day and you're screwing yourself. IMO, unlimited week-to-week is a very elegant solution to stopping people from juggling players. I see it as encourages moves, because you don't have to worry about using one from a set stock for the season.

But we have a minimum of 4 goalies starts that must be met.

Agreed, but it makes a difference none the less. It is an elegant solution and I think we both make good points on either side of the issue so we'll have to agree to disagree. However, I'm confident in saying that week-to-week promotes continual interest less than day-to-day.

Playing devil's advocate, you've argued day to day promotoes more continual interest however day to day can get overwhelming for people. By forgetting to make changes every day you're potentially losing the week and a couple of those weeks results in a "meh, I don't care anymore." attitude just as much as a "oh crap it's 2pm on Monday, I forgot to swap players for the week, I'm screwed."
The group of guys I always have a league with decided to go week to week this year as day to day for many of them last year was just too much. Depends on the group really.
As I said, either way works, just depends on what the collective want.

No doubt, it can require more effort. But it doesn't stop someone from setting their lineup for the week each Sunday, regardless of the format.
However, I too will follow the collective masses. We all know on which side of the fence I stand.

Yeah, I don't think either one of us will be changing our votes... now we just need to find out where the masses stand.

LOL, to keep beating a dead horse, I thought of something else...
Week-to-week with unlimited moves provides an opportunity for weekly streaming. We all know that Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays tend to be the busy days where you have to bench guys. There's a decent sized advantage to streaming your bottom 1-3 guys every week for guys who play Monday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday type games.

With week-to-week, you set your roster for the entire week no? So if you were to do this, you would get a 4 game / 3 game advantage and not a 7 game / 3 game advantage. And since we're beating a dead horse, limited day-to-day allows for day-to-day streaming for a portion of the season... although the way I see it, you do most of the streaming from within your bench.
We really need the masses to settle this.
