Sure. I think the extra game might do us good though. Our guys haven't been playing huge minutes and the tourney hasn't been physical at all.
If anything it'll give us a chance to iron out the kinks.
Also, if anyone thinks Getzlaf and Perry are floaters they must surely be excited to face Russia in the QF because based on the stuff posted on CP about guys like Kovalchuck we will destroy them. They supposedly have a whole team of floaters.

I think Canada's stats would look pretty sweet playing against Germany and Belarus as well.

IMO Germany and Belarus are more of a challenge than Norway. I would guess that Finland's results in this pool group would be the same as in their own.
I think you may be underestimating Finland just a bit in your posts. That may be just to make a point, however.
I don't think any team is more closely knit than Finland in these games. And I would think that if Selanne's rep as a Canadian was the same as he is a Fin, he would probably be representing Canada right now. (<---even I am confused by that statement)

He racks up points against weak teams then vanishes when the going gets tough.

Looks like Roberto for next game:

I was thinking this when Brodeur let in two goals and Iginla wasn't starting with Crosby, IN THE LAST FREAKING GAME, why in the god damned hell wasn't there a giant uproar about this after we almost lost the first time.
-Iggy + Crosby + Luongo= 8 goals and a shutout
-Brodeur - Iggy = 2 horrible freaking games
Seriously, how did you guys not see this coming????? I was going nuts in the first period and you guys weren't saying anything.... I just don't get how Babcock isn't getting reprimanded by every Canadian.

My thoughts:
1)Thornton showed why he chokes in the playoffs
2) Getzlaf and Perry... showed why we should be putting offensive players (Stamkos, Lecavalier, etc..
3) Bergeron.. I guess we know why you weren't invited to camp
4) Richards < Carter
5) Brodeur < Miller
6) Mcguire < Mute Button

Babcock needs to be like George Castanza in that episode where George does everything the opposite of what he normally does.
"Hi my name is George, I'm bald, unemployed and I live with my parents."
This might work.

If Brodeur starts vs Germany the fans in GM Place will storm the bench and hang Babcock from the rafters. Seriously. It would be the appropriate action too.

it's getting annoying to watch this team play the game as though it's an allstar game.
I still think the urgency we saw in the last 2 mins (other than the BS displayed by perry on the EN goal) will start to surface and the team captures gold.
Anything less is an extreme failure from the team GM down to the 13th forward.
lets face it, hockey is canada's only true athletic claim to fame, and this is getting embarassing.

Can anyone find a link that shows the following:
-What the seeds are (1-12)?
-Who plays in each time slot on Tues?
-Who plays in each time slot on Wed, pending outcomes?
I know things are completely decided yet (SWE/FIN pending), but I'm surprised this info is not out there.
Thank you!

I don't think the Fins are bad or that I am underestimating them just stating that they haven't played anyone that talented so trotting out their big GA and GF numbers really isn't that impressive.
I did say that if they Sweden they would have been more impressive.

Ugh.
Mike Babcock panicked tonight. Canada is absolutely dominating, getting great chances, and he starts changing lines again. Why? It's not like you are going to get better chances than you were!
That said, when Canada needed offence, who did he turn to? Crosby, Skills and Nash. And the moment he put Iggy on that line, both Crosby and Nash got a lot better. Think on that Babock.
Perry is an idiot... all he's gotta do is bat the puck behind the net, and the Americans don't score that ENG. Instead, he has his stick in the air, and got embarrassed. Also not surprising is that after the top line dominates the Americans for a full minute, he throws Getzlaf and Perry out and the puck ends up in our own net. That third line has been abysmal the entire tournament.
As far as the goaltending goes, can't say as I have confidence in either goalie at this point. Luongo has made a habit of choking in the big game, and Brodeur certainly has not shown he's able to carry the load either. Gonna be dicey from here on out.
