I honestly felt like the Flames dominated that game. All four lines looked good. That Jones-Stajan-Colbourne line is really clicking and are one of our most consistent over the last 5 or 6 games.

In the post game videos both Johnny and Ramo are sporting Stampeder caps - good to see their support!

Flames OT results: - Vancouver: Goal @ 3:03
- Detroit: Goal @ 3:12
- Ottawa: No goal
- Philadelphia: Goal @ 0:35
- Washington: Goal @ 1:40
- Chicago: Goal @ 1:38
15:08 total time played in OT by the Flames this season: 5 GF, 0 GA. That's a 19.82 GAA in 3-on-3 OT for the opposing goalies.

.900 is technically still mediocre. An NHL goalie needs .910 at least. Probably higher.
But yea, he's been playing great lately, have to give him credit.

Fantastic game. Third period and OT was best Flames hockey of the year.
Raymond in for Hudler was an upgrade it seemed. Hopefully Hudler finds his mojo soon. Basically all the forwards looked good.
Brodie just looks like a special player. Playing with a ton of confidence.
I am not a fan but thought Wideman might have had his best game of the season. He looked very strong with Russell out.
Gio - almost cost the team the game a couple of times. His problem seems to be more decision making or confidence than injury right now. He is not helping the team.
Hamilton is improving for sure but I am still hoping for more.
Amazing what good goaltending can do.

Difference between Sunday and Friday?
“We didn’t sit back and let them dictate the play and control the puck,” said Mark Giordano, whose crew outshot the guests 37-19 – including 6-0 in overtime. “We were very unhappy with the game on Sunday. We felt like we took a step back. But these last two (including Tuesday’s win over New Jersey) have been really good.”
|
Quote:
“If he gets that chance, usually he makes the other team pay,” said Giordano. “He reminds me a little bit of (Pavel) Datsyuk — with that quick stick, that stick-lift … and to be able to turn away, it’s not easy to do and he does it consistently.”
|
Quote:
It was Flames winger’s sixth shot on net.
“It bounced my way and I had a little breakaway there,” said Gaudreau. “I tried to get a quick deke on him. He’s a big goalie and he was making saves from outside the crease when I was shooting on him all night. So I figured (that I should) try to get him in close, try to get him down and the puck up.”
|
Quote:
Meaning of the team’s eight wins, five have arrived in overtime.
“I like it,” said Gaudreau. “I think a lot of guys in our locker-room like it. You know, we have a fast defence corps who are good with the puck and we have a lot of skilled offensive guys. I think we like it a lot.”

If that play was finished, it coudld've been the goal of the year.

My FAVOURITE part of the gif is the look of absolute dejection on Keith as he realizes his muggle hockey is nothing compared to Johnny''s Hogwarts Training. Hahaha, the shoulder slump, the way his stick just droops to his side... Hahahahahahaha

I cant beleive Raymond actually almost looked good on the top line. Whats his deal? He has the tools to be a good player but just cant seem to put it all together consistently. Lacks a bit of finish too but that was his best game in a long time. This is coming from a Raymond hater too.

-loved Jooris out there tonight, so much energy
-Brodie with another amazing game
-every time Gaudreau was on the ice he dominated play
Also I have come to the conclusion that there are way too many bandwagon jumper hawks fans. To counteract this I think each one should have to have a well developed opinion of the legacy of dollar bill wirtz or else their fandom is revoked.... That should thin them out right?

Johnny, Mony, and Brody speak for themselves.
That Stajan line is just amazing. They shutdown one of the most productive lines in the league and still had tons of scoring opportunities.
I gotta give props to two guys that get crapped on so much on here. Engelland and Raymond. I feel they played amazing tonight. I love having Raymond on that top line. He adds that extra speed factor that Hudler doesn't have. Engelland was once again quiet yet reliable.
I also felt Backlund has played well since being put together with Bennett and Frolik.
Somehow I feel tons of hope and it kinda sucks that we're playing so well right now and theres so many days in between games.

'fore I go to bed, lemme add one more thing.
Raymond fit in perfectly with Gaudreau and Monahan. Still had his inevitible once-a-game falling down moment, but had plenty of shots on goal and skated well (and with his shot, every shot is dangerous). The line was around 68% possession tonight at evens. Might wanna experiment with it and see if we can salvage that final year of Mason's deal by actually having him on the roster...

I said it earlier, but I seem to be a small minority that thought he was hot garbage tonight. Sure he was fast and hustled, but it seemed so inefficient and he worked way harder than he should have with less results.
He's got zero hockey sense, and it was super evident this game. The botched 2 on 1 with Monahan, where he should have dished for an easy tap in, but instead goes for some silly looking wrap around and ends up falling behind the net. Then the pass to Johnny up the left side, when Johnny very obviously was going to the right side. And then Johnny's pants dropper against Keith, that should have been a tap in for him.
I was a big fan of bringing him in before, but seeing him day to day has me convinced that the only reason he sticks around in the league is because of his speed and average hands. His lack of hockey sense absolutely astounds me.
