Man, get a grip.

He leads Lindholm by 70 goals and nearly 90 points also. And Lindholm is a superior player.

You inferred that Monahan’s recent problems were a result of “limited ability”.
You’re wrong. Period.

They are though. He's a finisher and not much more which is disappointing for a contending teams #1 center. This is a treadmill discussion.

The ability to score goals is easily the most valued asset in the NHL.
That is fact...no treadmills needed.

Lol, some people really underrate Monahan’s passing. He’s never gonna be dynamic which annoys some people but he’s a damn good hockey player who doesn’t just rely on his ability to finish. C’mon now

Monny is in a slump, but a great player none the less.
But to suggest he is better than MacKinnon or Barkov is going too far. Both bring a lot more to the game.
Monny is probably the best scorer, but doesn't quite drive the play like Nate does and Barkov is so solid all around.

Yes. And as I recall from every previous iteration of this mind-numbing discussion as soon as it ramps up you fall off the treadmill and land on your face.
Give it up, already. The #10 scoring centre in the NHL (by which I mean "player who ACTUALLY plays centre") is a damn good top-line centre.

His position in the scoring race means nothing to me. That's what these conversations always devolve into. HockeyDB scouting is so base level. HOW DARE YOU TALK THAT WAY ABOUT THE SECOND LEADING SCORER FROM HIS DRAFT CLASS. But then in the next breathe there is every excuse in the world why Leon Draisaitl is pacing for 50-50-100 and has outproduced Monahan 3 straight years now.
Let's be unbiased please

Monahan is a decent player, but show me ONE facet of his game that is on the same level as other #1 centres around the league (other than finishing within 10 feet, which he is probably one of the best in the league at). His defensive ability is also really bad, and one of the reasons why the #1 line gets pinned in their own zone a lot.

He’s bad defensively? Since when? Please provide stats or some sort of metric to back that up because I think that’s a big load of BALONY
