If Gaudreau had any sense of humor (which I'm sure he has), I'm guessing he finds this whole John Scott thing amusing, and isn't hurt at all by the fact that he's winning in all start voting. I honestly can't see Gaudreau caring whether or not he leads all star voting or not, especially when he's just as aware as the rest of us that it's an internet running joke right now that's getting Scott all the votes.

The main reason this whole John Scott thing bothers me is that he's had his fair share of dirty plays leading to suspensions. Anyone remember him going after Kessel, his dirty sucker punch on Jackman, and his illegal and late head shot on Loui Eriksson? I can't stand dirt bags like that.

Why couldn't the fans have picked a 4th liner that is respected in the league at least? Someone like Brian McGrattan would have my full support, but voting someone like John Scott who has a history of suspensions and questionable hits is just not a good choice in my opinion.

Great point! Scott shouldn't go to the all star game because of what he might do to some of the actual stars there. I guess I'd want him on Johnny's team just so he wouldn't cheap shot him.

What I want to know... Does John Scott get suspended if he declines to go? I thought some of the other stars had to sit out 1-2 games if they chose not to go to the All Star game in the past?

Crosby never goes to the All-Star game and I don't remember hearing about him getting suspended

Happened to Lidstrom and Datsyuk in 09, but I think the NHL has softened on that as several players since have skipped it without consequence.

Didn't Crosby miss a game after this most recent All Star game? I don't think it was officially a "suspension" for skipping the game, but I bet it had something to do with it.

Crosby was 'suspended' just last year for missing the All-Star game. Lidstrom and Datsyuk were as well one year. They still get paid, unlike normal suspension, but they can't play in the regular season game following the All-Star if they miss out without a good excuse.

Other years Crosby has been injured but went to the All-Star game festivities, made appearance, signed autographs, that sort of stuff, so the league was fine with it.
