Yeah, this is the first time all year the defense has had to deal with pressure throws. That's the cliche response when you made the wrong play but were lucky enough to have it succeed. Royals baseball!

I get the Royals beat the Jays and people don't want to give them credit, but they are a great team because they're annoying to play against. They have few weaknesses on the field, though their manager is weak, and they rarely make mistakes. Saying they're the worst WS team in history is a bit much. They're the greatest pitching performance ever from back to back rings. Assuming their ownership isn't cheap they might win a few more in the coming years.

Yeah, the Royals bullpen is tough. I think the 06 Cards and their 83 wins is the weaket WS Champion ever. They lucked out drawing he Tigers that year.

They made it to game 7 of the World Series last year, had the best record in the American League this year and look good to win the WS this year, but it's all luck.

They are a good team but if you wanna play the anecdote game the Royals are a Alcedes "career .630 OPS" Escobar not hitting .500 in the ALCS from sitting at home right now too. It works both ways.

Right but welcome to playoff baseball. There's always those guys who just get into zones or take it to a level they never have or will again. Like say Daniel Murphy for the Mets.

well they were down 7-0 in the wildcard game last year. lose that and the team probably blows up, none of this happens.

It just amazes me how they have hit every closer yet their closer Davis strikes out everyone

Daniel Murphy is also an above average hitter. Escobar is one of the worst hitters in the majors. Good hitters getting hot happens. Awful hitters channelling Pete Rose isn't something that happens every year.

They also have the ability to basically play 5 inning games because of their bullpen. Every team that wins the World Series needs a few guys to up their game that are unexpected. There's always that element in winning teams.

I don't know advance baseball stats very well, but I read on the jays forum that the Royals babip is out of this world right now in their post season run. A comparable is like the flames unsustainable stats being on steroids.

The Royals were dead, 4 down with 6 outs to play in their season. They never looked back from there and they played with absurd levels of confidence since. Seems rare when they didn't get a big hit.

thing is that the Royals hit so deep that in a 7 game series they see every reliever 4 or 5 times. The guy who started this inning pitched in all 5 games this series. The Jays Osuna pitched in 4 of the 6 games. At some point a pitcher has nothing left to throw at these guys.

Harvey has to feel like such a donkey. Forces the manager to keep him in to stroke his ego, blows the 9th, and the Royals tear apart the weaker Mets bullpen. What a tool

Congrats to the Royals. As tough as the past 20 years have been for Blue Jay fans it was an even tougher 30 years for KC fans.

Kinda cool to live in KC. Tomorrow this entire city is shut down, all school districts announced closure today, as well as colleges and most businesses. Everyone in the Metro area is going downtown to the parade and 'rally point' which is our train station, Union Station. Three years ago, tickets went for $4.00-$7.00 each in the cheap seats. Now each game is sold out every night, and the 'cheap seats' are $45 and up! Been amazing to see this city love their 'Cinderella team.'

Here's our crew partying downtown last night- can't wait until the parade tomorrow. What a great season!!
