Eh, Kulak made the team out of camp, so I don't give them that one. Jankowski was only brought up because of injury, the fact that he played well is nice but it didn't hurt that Versteeg was ruled out until like March/April shortly after

Wouldn't mind seeing the Captain get a little.loud with his teammates once in awhile. Captain something, Captain.

The Heat had to lose their game with left than a minute remaining in regulation, too.

Flames were outplayed for the most part and Smith kept them in it. But he was definitely the goat on the winning goal. I've said it many times; he needs to let his D play the puck and stop shooting off the glass when a D is right there. Can't fault him too much though, without him it's an ass whipping on the score board.
And Bennett WTF on the empty net. Electing to try some forehand move instead of shooting into an open net.
The game was there for the taking and they didn't' capitalize when they had the chance.
|
if only he had his head up he would've seen the gaping wide open net.

I was counting 86 to 90 as our "glory years". The 27 years since (also known as my entire adolescent and adult life) cheering for this team has been a nearly universally disappointing, frustrating, and heartbreaking experience.

If we still had our first round pick I’d agree but giving the Isles a lottery pick would be an unmitigated disaster and could cost Treliving his job. I would hope he’s as fed up as we are and has the balls to admit his hire was terrible.

Worst period of the year, then they reel you back in with a dominant second only to fall behind early in the third with little to no pushback. A little break is needed until a change in leadership, a trade, or a call up to light a spark.

He looked really frustrated tonight. Dropping F bombs all over the place. Only so much he can do honestly. The coaching isn’t working for this team.

Don't like Monahan's lack of energy outside of that little area around the opposition's net.
There has to be more to his game that is well above average when the guy is skating on a top line.
He's lethal as hell when he's on, but a complete non factor when either he or Johnny isn't feeling it.

I decided to stop caring after the Philly game. Stopped watching. Watched tonight cuz my dad is in town and he watches all the games. It was so nice not to give a #### about this useless team.
God, if I could bottle up all the energy I have spent on this sad sack franchise in the last 20 years I could probably power a rocket to Mars. What a complete and utter waste.
The NHL’s garbage officiating is just the icing on the cake.

Love Gio, but he’s just not that guy. Our coach clearly isn’t either. In fact, I don’t think there’s a single person in that dressing room that is that guy, and that’s a problem.

Conroy still put up 48 points the season before with Keenan. He was definitely on the decline but I think B Sutter was also a factor is his poor play.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I'll say this. I genuinely do not know how any GG advocates can support him or the style of play and its results anymore. A season and a half of this. Some statistical improvements, minor improvements in the standings. Not nearly enough to endorse this coaching staff or the systems they implement. No way. Indefensible.

I've thought Monahan has had a hand or wrist injury for about 3 weeks now

Whilst I totally agree with you, Treliving’s had a long time to ruminate on that hiring, and the writing was on the wall since November. If he isn’t going to do it now, I don’t think he will until the trade deadline at the earliest. He’s not an impulsive guy, and is very considered when he makes personnel changes. I just don’t see it happening any time soon UNLESS they lose something like 6-7 in a row from now.
