You can't forecheck at all shorthanded if you have a guy up by your blueline, too stretched to bottle anything down. Essentially makes it a given that you have a guy with speed coming through the neutral zone.
What level/ages you coach?

Or they need the space on the right chest for ads next season (the actual centennial season).

They probably put it there though because the Pens, Flyers, Kings and Blues are all already wearing 50th anniversary patches on the front. The Leafs have a 100th anniversary patch of their own. Edmonton has the Rogers Place patch, etc.
One of those things is not like the others.

The refs likely thought Iggy might destroy Gio. He probably could if he wanted to do it. Seriously people, you're talking as if Iggy's 80 years old when he's only like 5 years older than Gio. Plus, I don't think that a classy guy that Iggy is, he wouldn't have destroy and embarrass Gio anyway. The refs should've just let the fight go and both players would've just grabbed each other and say to each other like this:

"Hey Gio, I like your team better than my team."
"Yeah, Iggy, come back home in early March."

Then, after the refs intervenes their love talks on the ice, they pat each other's backs and go to their respective penalty boxes.

The Avs is just a dismal team - no cohesiveness on any of their lines.

I can't believe this still irks me days after the fact. It would have been a cool story to have the two old dogs scrap and then laugh about it after.
