It's fine to say you're okay with how everything is happening, but you'd be fooling yourself to say the World Cup of Hockey isn't about the money and that it has little to do with Olympic participation.
This was a completely calculated, money driven decision. Full stop.

They held a WC in 2004 even though the NHL went to the Olympics in 2002 and were going back in 2006, because the league and union wanted the money. Same thing here.
If most of the problems I listed can be solved the NHL will go to the Olympics, whether there's a WC or not. It's unlikely, but they would.

Okay sure, but your first post was a shot at everyone who thinks the World Cup of Hockey was revived due to the NHL's decision to stop attending the Olympics, stating that it has little to nothing to do with it.
My point was that almost every reputable source has stated that it was a two step process;
1. We've decided not to go to the Olympics
2. We're reviving the World Cup of Hockey to replace the international tournament hole being created
They were completely linked to which you're denying. Saying there was a WCH in 2004 and Olympics in 2002 doesn't mean anything in regards to this current WCH tournament. The intentions were clear, and no one will be shocked when the next World Cup of Hockey is in 2020.
This was absolutely a replacement that the NHL gets to do on their terms and profit from. Again, some are okay with that and that's fine, but to deny the link is extremely odd when it's so obvious and been reported so clearly.
