The sad thing is, Erixon would actually be an improvement in Edmonton. Going to Edmonton would probably help extend his NHL career.

With his prima donna issues? It would be a total trainwreck, his effort level would be near zero with the toxic atmosphere in that dressing room, the fans would turn on him quickly, he'd likely be a healthy scratch at points, and eventually he'd probably give up and head to Europe

Whoa, whoa, whoa. This is the Edmonton Oilers we are talking about here. "Healthy scratch"?! If J. Schultz gets free reign with gifted consequence free ice time to do whatever the hell he wants, then why the hell would a shiny new toy like Erixon ever spend a minute in the press box? McTavish would probably meet him at the airport with a freshly printed 6x6 in hand, just awaiting his signature.

I don't. The Oilers usually try to trade injured players, not acquire them.
