Maybe that is what he does, and has to return for some reason.
I think this is an excellent thought.

If you need a reason you could just imagine it's so Jr. can finish off his last year if school, which had been discussed. As well, people get attached to their homes, their family and friends, even in crappy ol Abq.

Lastly Walt's ego could be a part of it. Not even imagining he may not get away with it.

But you're right, that would be the smart thing to do. But it probably just comes down to a writing thing. Need em at home for Hank to find them out. No reason to move them/complicates the plot too much too move them. (Before whatever goes down in the future)
Wouldn't be because they just purchased a car wash? If they were to all of a sudden sell it and move away wouldn't that be a tad suspicious? Especially since the car wash is doing really well and growing?

They bought the car wash while walt was still cooking so just not buying it at all was not an option.

First part is true, good point.

As for the second, not sure what you are trying to say.

Suspicious to who? No one aside from Hank suspects Walt of anything.

I can't see any neighbours, friends or relatvies calling it in. "You know that guy who bought that car wash? I thought he was doing well and all of a sudden he sold it and moved away. I think he may be up to no good. Better call the FBI."

I think the only reason Walt wouldn't run away and hide, despite that being the smart move, is because his ego is too big for that. He thinks he's too clever to get caught, and he's not afraid of Hank. We already saw how he confronted Hank directly, and then threatened him.

Well, they did already 'admit' untaxed gambling winnings. A move might put some questions into the system by friends and family.

Like I said first though, I think it's mostly a writing thing. It doesn't need to have a reason.

I guess its not necessary to sell it, but they could still use the desire to expand the car wash operation as a sort of reasonable excuse.

All Walt would have to do is burn down Hank's house and destroy the rest of the evidence, which is now conveniently located in Hank's garage instead of the DEA office. I could imagine how furious Hank would be to not have that evidence anymore. It might cause a switch inside of him to flip.

That would be awesome. Hank would probably lose his job too and that would also be a cause for him to go total vigilante honey badger.

The look on Hank's face when Walt confronted him has an aura of complete lunacy. I agree with others that it was a fine piece of acting.

Pretty funny to see what a slow burn this show has had to popularity. The first three seasons had about ten posts in this thread and didn't get to a second page.

Did they not specifically say those were copies? I would have to assume since he had 2 DEA agents bringing it to him seemingly on the up-and-up, that's not original evidence...

Yup, pretty much typical of the audience and the world. Probably why they broke up the last sixteen. They've been gaining steam every single season.

I'll be honest, I started watching at the beginning of season 4. My building has a lobby where we have a communal bookshelf. People stock, people take, just dont be a dick. I had heard of the series from media and more importantly, seeing this thread bounce.

The bookshelf had season one on dvd. Instantly hooked.

For the cycle, the dvd got my mom and sis, came back to the building, and infected more.

So good.

I typically don't start watching any shows from the time they start. I wait until the public library gets the full seasons on DVD.

Anyone else been watching since episode one, day one?

If so we should probably give ourselves a pat on the back... I knew this show would be awesome the moment I saw that Vince Gillian was the creator.

I've put some more thought into the carwash scene and I think what is shows is Skylar's willingness to accept walt and go along with his plans.

To that effect will Jesse and Hank team up? Will Walt and Skyler team up?

More specifically, the first scene has Walt getting the Ricin. The theory is to use on himself, but maybe on Skylar.

Yes. Episode one was a masterpiece. It was like watching a whole series in a single episode. The train episode was also one of the highlights where no tv show has gone before.

Yup. I didn't even know Shaw had AMC at the time. I read a preview of the pilot and went to search to see if anyone was airing it locally and found out that I got AMC.

Yeah, I've been watching since the beginning. At first it was hard to get other people on board though. I was sold when I heard the dad from Malcolm In The Middle was going to be a meth dealer, but the premise didn't seem to impress anyone else I talked to.
