My windows are all oddly shaped and don't really fit an airconditioner, and I'm broke ass and can't afford a portable. Really, I'm screwed. Although I'm apparently only at 31.5 degrees today so far, so it's better than yesterday... for now. I'll check out that window fan though. My window is directly above my bed. Might help.
If you are having troubles sleeping, I have a little trick for you that might help. I lived on the top floor of an apartment building and my window was facing a direction where no wind could get in. It was pretty much an oven all night long. To help counter the heat, I used to take my bed sheets and soak them in ice cold water in the bathtub for a couple of minutes. Then I would wring out the water from the sheets and set them on my bed about an hour or so before I go to bed. It wasn't the best feeling but it really helped me sleep.

Well I washed my car after work, so that's pretty much a 100% chance that it will rain in the next 24 hours.

That was one of my prime benefits of moving - hot hazy humid summers SUCK, and the winters in SW Ont were wet snow and slush-a-thons.
yes, besides the hot hazy humid air, which is bad enough, the smog days make it even worse, and I am surrounded by beautiful beaches, that you cannot swim at because of the E-coli in the water. How gross!

It seems you are stuck in the house more in the summer than winter sometimes.

My sister is taking the water samples for Lake Huron from Sarnia to Grand Bend. One spot she needs to wear hip waders because the water is so bad.

Where in Ont are you? Sound like TO if your beaches are that bad.

I'm not going to complain about the heat, because I hate the cold, but I gotta say, thank god for the breeze tonight!
