That’s right, literally nobody said that.
A significant contingent here have written the Flames off since early April or earlier, and the journalists asking him the live questions have written articles basically trotting out eulogies for this season, looking ahead to next season, long before last week.
The Habs were a lot farther ahead and closer to Edmonton and Winnipeg at late March, so the assumption from everyone was that the Habs weren't falling off a cliff...and, recall, the Canucks outbreak hadn't happened.

Cassie just has some terrible takes and goes out of her way to not be a Flames homer which pretty much just makes her a fangirl of the other team
Not usually a Cassie detractor but she made a comment about a "no call" when the Flames had 6 guys on the ice...except that they never had the puck. Couldn't figure out what she was going on about. She really does try hard to be the "other side" when she's doing Flames games nationally. (Except it sickening when it's McDiddleface love.)
Bottom 5 team in the league in terms of points percentage with an abysmal .333 since April 3rd. That is dreadful.

I dont expect them to win every game, im realistic, but for God sake, if you can't string together more than 1 win at a time, and continue taking 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards, that stuff is annoying, and unfortunately gives me a bad vibe about that locker room right now.

Habs simply don't want to be here. There is no urgency in any aspect of their game.
The complete lack of poise in our defensive end and the inability to transition will be the death of the team. It seems like 75%+ of transition attempts are either turnovers, high dumps for a change, or end up not even getting out of our zone for various reasons.
This team is dead in the water. Best case scenario is we miss playoffs, get a chance at a good pick, and clear house. We need a new front office with a new vision. This is Berg's all in roster and we would NOT be in a playoff spot in a normal season.
It's painful to watch, I can't do it anymore.
If we make the playoffs we are going to be the team that gives this Leafs core their first round win. It won't even be close.

Can we just talk about Gaudreau for a second? Guy doesn’t get much credit but that shot was absolutely insane. And the timing of the shot too, early enough to get the Flames back in the game. I feel like the fact they got the goal early like that gave them some runway and build confidence throughout the game. So they weren’t behind for a really long stretch.
He’s actually been really good the last few games. Very refreshing to see. Would love for him to be a part of a deep Flames run and really get embraced by the city. It’d be so amazing.
Johnny's had his ups and downs, been called out by the coach, but is slowly figuring out how to play Sutter hockey. (Chucky, not so much.)

Didn't get to watch, but happy with the result. I've never cheered for a loss and I don't think I will start now.
Glad Markstrom has found his game. If the Flames are going to sneak in they will need Markstrom to not have any bad games, and will likely need him to steal a few.
Gaudreau is either making a case to stay, and to increase his trade value. Both are great for the Flames.
