Cheer for your country weirdos. Hockey is Canada's game and we should win every tournament.
If you want to support Calgary then cheer for the three Calgarian kids who are representing team Canada
|
Nationalism itself is weird.
Canadians are very tribalistic by nature, due to the spread out nature of our country.
If you want to cheer for the whole of Canada over Flames prospects, go ahead, but don't be self-righteous about it. Nationalism... is garbage.

RT @ArponBasu: Jankowski said decision on Nurse was difficult, came down to performance in Subway Series. Still tried to do too much, so wasn't invited

Yeah, you don't see Spaniards, Italians, Australians, etc. get all worked up over national teams in sports tournaments. That's why you frequently see Dutch football fans cheer for the German side in the Euro and World Cup if the German team has players from their club side. And no doubt most of the fans in Barcelona will be cheering on Argentina if they play Spain in the World Cup next year, because, you know, Messi.

RT @ArponBasu: #Avs Nathan MacKinnon (obviously) and #Caps Tom Wilson (not so obviously) have been ruled out for the WJC for Canada
RT @ArponBasu: As for Sean Monahan, he should be back from injury right around start of WJC camp. HC hoping #Flames allow him to go as kind of a rehab trip

Well we saw last year that they had already decided their goalies before camp, better to be up front about it this time around and give the 2 guys they actually want the most time with the team.

Ya just my opinion but when they said they were making the camp smaller because they invited people who didn't have a chance last year they were reffering to brossoit. Goalies seem like a position you would want to go more off of their season then a camp anyways you don't have to worry about chemistry or stuff like that.

Call me petty, but I'd love it if Monahan was released, which bumped Shinkaruk.
As for the list, I'm not going to pretend like I watch enough junior hockey to disagree with anything. I'm ready to cheer for whoever is on Team Canada

Welli guess we can watch potential Flames Ekblad and Reinhart closely. I'm excited to see them against the best in the world.

No expert either, but I am disappointed for Poirier, it sounds like he did everything he could.
Hopefully, he can use this slight as motivation to crush his competition in the Q, as a precursor to a surprise Calder run in 2014-15!

Klimchuk could. Poirier will be too old.

I don't know what more Poirier could have done. The guy is a very good two way player who can skate on international ice has good offensive instincts and a genuine nasty streak.
Now either they were concerned about his discipline. Or Sutter has a bitterness about the Flames and just screwed our prospect over.
I can't see any other reason why a guy who has lit the WHL is not even getting to camp.

Yeah. Slightly surprised Porrier didn't make it. He can play all 3 forward positions too right?
Also, probably a typo but he plays in the Q, not the Dub
