I loved gravity. Just like Top Gun Maverick, the visual spectacle overrode any schlock those movies put you through. Gravity is the best movie filmed about space. By that I mean the cinematography. Beats interstellar by a little bit.
Won't be the best for long as Tom Cruise is still green lit on that movie actually filmed in space.
"Hey guys...where are you going? Guys? Guys....?"

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Never understood the appeal of Sandra Bullock to movie goers.
She definitely ruined Gravity.
Her and Jared Leto. High profile yet borderline unwatchable actors.
Needless to say, I'm pessimistic about Tron: Ares, despite how cool it looks visually. Leto in lead roles is terrible.
She, like Leto, have their places and roles where they excel and I get that they want to branch out.
I can rant and rail against Bullock in Gravity, but at the end day? She did as she was directed and did it as best she could. She's not an amateur and she's not a hack.
That movie made it's bones on cinematography. The rest of it was garbage.
Its similar to the Avatar films.
"Ooh! Look at that! Shiny!"
Yeah, so is a Burger King wrapper in the wind, sorry, I need more than that.

Weapons out on streaming today- yahoo! I'm about to dive in- have tried as much as humanly possible to go in knowing as little as I can, but between all the trailer scenes and a few idiots on instagram posting inadvertent spoilers, I'm 98% sure I know what is causing the bad stuff in the movie. Still psyched though...

I'm only slightly aware of Troma movies, not really a fan of the campy horror stuff but I've been hearing good things about the new Toxic Avenger and will likely check it out.
The Day the Earth Caught Fire is a movie way ahead of its time. Made in 1961, it's about the planet being thrown off its orbit by simultaneous Soviet and American nuclear tests. It's like an early version of The Day After Tomorrow, only *good*. Features a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo by an uncredited Michael Caine:

Rewatched Out of Sight this week with my wife. Told her it contained one of the sexiest scenes I've ever seen in a movie and she was sold.
This is that scene. I'm curious to hear what y'all think. The lighting might be the most gorgeous lighting ever in any scene. Also the pauses really get me. That's the sexy bits. The mood, the anticipation. Nothing graphic or lewd. Just watch it.

I love the Coen Brothers but I never watched Intolerable Cruelty because it has a reputation as one of their “missteps”. I finally saw it the other day and actually liked it, mostly because of Clooney’s charm. I’ve never seen this movie either but it looks like it could be a winner for the same reason.
