$10.0 m tied up in goal for two years with two +30-year-old goalies. Edmonton will most likely need to attach a draft pick to any deal to get Kostinem out of town.

It's going to certainly be entertaining watching OEL bankrupt the Coyotes.

Oh, and he won a Stanley Cup two years ago with a .922. He didn’t forget how to do it.
The dude is trending towards a Hall of Fame career.

Yea I don't get the hate on for Holtby... maybe he's trending downwards but his resume speaks for itself.

A team can offer sheet Bear any time they want. Signing Markstrom does not affect that directly. He is also the kind of player that a team needs to be very careful about with an offer sheet—the type of contract offers he will get will all be easily matched by the Oilers, and anything they hesitate on will simply be too much for this player.

Sounds like Talbot already has some strong interest from Minny, Dallas and Detroit.
Tree cant afford to be left with his junk tossing in the wind on the goaltending front.

Part of me hopes he signs somewhere else quick, and forces Tre to do something. Sounds like Markstrom isn’t going to happen, so let’s move on to Holtby, or making Vegas make it worth our while to take MAF.
Nothing against Talbot, but I want change for the sake of change at this point. Do literally anything to shake this team up. They are stuck.

Id rather sign Talbot and move Rittich if I am honest. Find another young 1b.
I honestly cannot escape the thought that the Flames/Rittich relationship is soured after the ride or die with Talbot through the playoffs.

I think the question was more if Markstrom sign with the Oilers today they would not have the cap space to match a Bear offer sheet. $4.2 mil is the most you can offer without giving up a first and signing Markstrom would leave them way less than $4 mil cap space.

I don’t think you could convince a team to give you the RFA rights to me for Rittich right now. Damaged goods. Will be playing in Europe in a year from now, barring a massive surprise next season. I just don’t think he has the mental toughness to be a regular NHL goalie.

Can't you go over the cap by like 10% in the offseason?
