Ron Jaworski was on ESPN radio yesterday saying really it just would come down to what teams want. He truly believes Indy wants the same type of QB they've had and the person best fitting is Luck. However also said if the Redskins had #1, in his opinion (not saying I believe everything this guy says, just stating his opinion) tehy would still take RG3 because he plays a different style that would suit them better.

I hope for both teams these guys turn into pro bowl studs, but as we've seen time and time again, making that next jump isn't something all can do.

But Campbell has a noodle arm himself. So you're using him in short yardage situations as well, so why not just go with Tebow?

Actually I think Campbells arm strength is fine. He's quite capable of launching the ball downfield. His issues are more that he tends to be over cautious opting for safer throws. Some guys can't throw the ball down field.

Really...I thought Missouri was a spread offence. If anything Locker played the closest thing to a pro style offence under Sarkasian in Washington.

Really though, who cares about this comparison. Just because Gabbert may have been more pro ready than Newton, I think the consensus was that Newton was the better QB.

In the case of Luck vs. Griffin, both are elite level athletes. The fact that Luck has been in a pro style offence, and had the authority to make calls at the line of scrimmage last year to adjust to defensive formations does make him more pro ready.

But as I say, Griffin probably has a better rookie season..he'll have some semblance of a team around him.

Last year was an atypical year. Gabbert was still in a spread system in Mizzou. The only 1st round QB who played in a pro style offense was Locker and anyone who watched him knew that his physical tools (technique, etc.) simply weren't pro ready even if he knew the playbook. Gabbert might have been the most pro ready, but that's only relative to the other QBs that year - compared to other drafts he wasn't pro ready at all.

Basically I was just pointing out you can't go using the term most pro ready and think that there still isn't a chance for failure or for others to surprise. I understand that last years QB class was all over the map in terms of different teams seeing different things in each of the QB's and drafting accordingly.

I obviously think the RG3 number 1 pick is ridiculous but hope that a lot of those crazy predictions come true because getting Jonathan Martin at 23 would be great for the Lions.

That would be unreal. I don't think a tackle of his caliber is falling into the 20's though. This mock was not very good. I don't see SF taking a running back in the first round either.

Locker must have made amazing progress because in his chances to play last year he looked pretty good. Probably the third most effective rookie behind Newton and Dalton. He certainly outplayed Ponder and Gabbert..and I know he didn't play nearly as much as each of them did.

The evidence against Payton appears to have been even more damning. When general manager Mickey Loomis (also suspended for eight games, making Loomis the first GM in league history to earn a suspension) told Payton in 2010 that the organization was being investigated for the bounty program, the report suggests that Payton went to Williams and Vitt before their interviews with the league's security and told them to " … make sure our ducks are in a row." It doesn't appear that Payton was interviewed as part of the investigation at that time, but when he denied all knowledge of the program in a 2012 interview with the league, they showed him an e-mail from 2011 in which Payton added a very expensive postscript: "PS Greg [sic] Williams put me down for $5000 on Rogers [sic]." The message refers to Aaron Rodgers, who the Saints were about to play in the NFL's opening game of the season. When presented with that evidence, Payton admitted he was referring to the Packers quarterback. That postscript (or not having a separate Gmail account to use in lieu of his nfl.com e-mail address) will cost Payton $7.5 million by virtue of his one-year suspension without pay.
