Flames should hire John Hufnagel. Maybe he can bring his magic to the Flames.
Seriously though, I noticed a lot of people and media are throwing names because of their connections with Burke or Treliving. Carlyle's name been a lot because Burke worked with him in Anaheim and Toronto. Gulitzan's name popped up because he played with Treliving in the minors. I really think Treliving is taking his time to decide who to interview. I also don't believe Brian Burke will tell Treliving who he should hire. Treliving will definitely ask inputs from Burke, Conroy and Pascall then he makes his own decision. You have to realize this is going to be his first hiring as a GM. Right now it is anybody's guess on who he will interview or if he already made up his mind on who he will hire. Once he gets back from World Championship, he'll start his interview. Or maybe he's been conducting interviews already while in Russia. It is going to be interesting. I have no clue on who he will pick.

I actually think that Sheldon Keefe would be a great coach for the Flames. I don't have some analytical/tactical breakdown to back this up, just a feeling from having read quite a lot about where he has coached previously and how well those teams seem to have done.

Kirk Muller or Dineen.

I like Dineen more and more as I read about him and his experience.
But as long as it's not Carlyle or Lowry I'll warm up to whoever.

Might be time for a 3rd edition of the poll now that the overwhelming favourite Sutter has reportedly signed with the LAKings.

You don't want Mark Jankowski to be the best centre Wayne Gretzky has ever seen?

Keenan coached the Flames to the playoffs twice in two seasons. Not saying I want him back, but Brent Sutter ran that into the ground. So lets just have some perspective here.

Any chance that the Caps fire Barry Trotz after an early playoff exit? Probably wishful thinking, but always like Trotz.

Not that I want him, but that 08/09 team also had amazing underlying numbers that season. If we weren't icing an entire set of injured defencemen and a handless Langkow, that team could have gone deep.
