He's going to be a to 6 player IMO and now he plays for a rival and is going to have a huge hate on for the Flames
Not a fan of the way we handled Sven here, it's pretty disappointing

Hmmm I dunno. I would say the values are very similar. Connolly is an NHLer who has shown some ability to produce with very limited ice-time.
Sven, this year anyways, hasn't.
If Connolly is worth two 2nds, I don't think Sven being worth 1 is unreasonable.

That's actually more than I expected the Flames could get at this point. Not a fan of him being moved to the Canucks, but another 2nd in a deep draft is nothing to sneeze at.

Well, a 1st round pick/13th overall with 4 years of post-draft development traded for the 2nd round pick... I can't say I'm happy about this return even understanding that Sven did not stand up to the expectations of him...

A second round pick in a good draft is about what he is worth. What do you think he is worth?
He still might develop, but maybe the Flames have seen enough.

Also. Bartschi becomes waiver eligible next season. If he doesnt make the team out of camp he would be waived/traded then and likely at a return similar to Colborne

Similar to the Connolly deal, but Connolly doesn't have a history of attitude issues. A 2nd round pick for a former 1st round pick who is still young enough to change, but doesn't have the lustre he did two years ago.
I am okay with this deal. I am interested to see where Sven fits going forward with the Canucks.
