Andersson should return something similar to Hronek

Raz wanting out is another blessing just like what happened with the players last year rejecting “reasonable” contracts.

The return on Andersson should/could(?) be in line with Chychrun’s original return I’d think - although maybe the market is colder on deals like that nowadays. I expect the return would be 1st + 2nd at a minimum, with potential for an additional 2nd.

I wonder if NYR would be interested? 1st + Kakko would be cool.

Andersson (potentially) getting traded is great because not only does he bring a return in, but his absence will help us get firmly into that top-3 conversation draft-wise.

This is a pretty good comparable.

Whats NYR's D look like? Do they need a RHS?

Edit - Just had a look. They have no need for Ras unfortunately. Which is too bad, as with the rumors of Kakko, this would be a deal that makes sense

Samoskevitch was pretty impressive with his short stint last year, raw but looks like a player. Florida doesn't have their 1st this year but in 2026.

They also will have a large chunk of money available when Rasmunssen's current deal ends with Bob coming off the books, so they could easily sign him to an extension. Florida has lately been somewhat of a magnet for Swedes, started with the Hornqvist signing and I assume Forsling becoming a star doesn't hurt.

They’re honestly the last team that needs one with the depth of Fox, Trouba, Schneider.

I would be looking at Dallas. Bourque is going to be a good one, and we could retain on Andersson. Heiskanen/Harley/Andersson/Lindell is arguably the best top 4 in the nhl.

I’d definitely want Bourque + 2025/2026 1st + cap dump.

I feel like I point this out every time Andersson's name comes up, but Buffalo's blueline is extremely thin on the right side. Dahlin, Power, Byram, and Samuelsson are all lefties.

Another team that has a decent amount of assets: Carolina. Andersson would be good there with Slavin.

If Andersson is dealt, I could see OTT and DET as good trade partners. Both are weak on D, have young assets/picks, and looking to make a push this season.

Actually, if it's Andersson, Tampa Bay looks like the most natural fit.

I think Ottawa has spent too many futures being and then being burnt by the guys they bring in.

Well, if the Flames run out now and sign a guy like Tyson Barrie, we'll definitely know something's up.

Again I cannot confirm via my source but there’s definitely significant interest.

I personally feel like he starts the year in CGY at the very least, but the rumblings indicate it could be on the horizon? Not sure personally how I feel about it, I’d assume we could get quiet a good package.
Interesting timing considering FlamesTalk was discussing Rasmus on Friday.

I'm not surprised at all.

Mangiapane, Gaudreau, and the other Swedes (Markstrom, Lindholm, Backlund) were Anderson's best friends on the team, and everyone except for Backlund is gone .

Combine that with him being a guy that has clearly said winning his is priority and I doubt he's happy with a rebuild as he approaches UFA.

I think they should have moved him this offseason, but before the deadline could be just as good too

If a trade were to happen now I think Nashville would be the suitor. They are kind of all in to win, have lots of draft capital, and need a RH top 4 dman. (Josi and Skjei are both LH)

If they are able to clear Johansen $4M hit due to the contract termination then I think it really heats up.

Tomasino + 1st (they have 3 in 2025) + Conditional 2nd for Andersson...something like that.

Yeah, trading Rasmus just makes too much sense not to consider. Good player, but not going to be part of the solution here.

If Andresson gets traded, then Vladar and Wolf are going to be in tough next season. Weeger will be the only proven NHL defenceman on the team.

At his age I wouldn't say Andersson wouldn't be or can't be part of the solution. His next contract is 29-37 which wouldn't be the end of the world for term.

Would rather someone else give him double his current salary for 7-8 years. We also have Parekh, Brzustewicz, and Mews in the pipeline.
