If he was, he was well hidden.

I'm 99 percent sure I saw him in the Glenmore landing parking lot last week.

Sure sounded like the Flames made every effort to trade the guy but could not get their asking price....
My bet, Flames will trade him at the draft.
Conroy did say, on Fan960 he thought Mike will test free agency.

Cammalleri is definitely in town... he was in studio @ the JackFM morning show yesterday.
Eric Francis @EricFrancis Apr 28
Companies hiring should tune into @JACKFMCalgary now as #mcammalleri13 is in studio and we are trying to find him a job. #YYC

4 million a year sounds too low of an offer in an increasing cap world. I now Cammalleri hasn't been great over the past few years but that sort of contract seems more of a token contract offer and not the type of contract you offer if you really want to keep the player in the organization.
Saying that I won't be sad to see him go. He was good goal scorer but below average defensively and a weakling.
He will get at least 5 million as a UFA.

He'll be looking for more money of course but he'll also be looking for a team in contention. We lose on both criterias but he probably appreciates having a base offer.

Sounds about right from what the Flames should be offering, and conversely, no surprise that he would pass and want to test free agency.
Still wouldn't be surprised if the two sides ended up getting something done and he ends up back here next year.

I doubt that Flames offer is close to what they may be looking for. His next 2/3 seasons are probably his last big money earners and I can see him looking for more than $4 million/season considering the money that was thrown around last July to guys like Clarkson.

Feaster tried to trade the guy all summer/fall with no takers not sure why anyone is surprised he wasn't moved at the deadline especially with his play to that point

I'm sure 4 mill x 3 years is just an opening offer. If he wanted to stay i'm sure they could agree on 4.5-5 x 4 or something, but my guess is that he wants way more, which makes negotiating kinda pointless.

I guess it depends on what he wants. If he wants to win then I dont see a contending team offering him that.
If he wants a really long term then hes going to have to look 3 hours north.

Anaheim can offer him that. Minnesota can offer him that if they don't land Vanek. Detroit can offer him that. Tampa can offer him that if they don't sign Callahan, and even if they do, if they can manage Malone and Cammy both there for a year, they can still sign him.

I'm not saying they cant, I'm saying they wont.
Contending teams are not throwing $5M at a 31 year old who has had some pretty staggering inconsistencies, for the next 5 years.
They'll throw that at Jarome Iginla, Jaromir Jagr, etc. I dont think Cammalleri fits into that demographic.
Most of the rest of the guys pulling that kind of coin are 5-6 younger than him.

Crazy things happen every July 1st. He'll get 5x5 from a decent team.

Very true, I just think that if he wants money, he can get it here, if he wants term he can get it here, if he wants to win he cant have that here, but if he wants all 3 then he may not be able to get that.

This sums it up I think... I thought LA would be a perfect fit but gaborik has looked good with kopitar so they may look to re-up him instead of going after cammalleri.

I heard 4.5, 4.5, 3.5
Close enough but since Burke took over it's a hard read.
As for the contract, personally I think it's low ball, Cammy will probably get 5.5, 4.5, 4.0 over 3 years.

Well we'll just have to see. A lot of teams wanting offence, and the cap going up.
